First, I'll preface this with they're not looking for money. I mean, it can never hurt for a non-profit to have donations, but that isn't the reason for my post.
What they really need is likes. As in social media clicks. Hot for Teacher (my girlfriend) co-founded a non-partisan voter engagement group that services underserved communities, specifically the Allison Hill neighborhood of Harrisburg, PA. They believe that the best way for people to improve their own community is to show up at the ballot box. It's not for them to make any reference to leftist or rightist commentary, it's simply encouraging people to vote to help themselves.
Like I said, I'm not asking for money, rather asking for clicks/likes. Presence drives social media algorithms, evidently. Short of that, we are pretty social-media illiterate.
If (and only if):
- their values align with yours
- you have the time and are browsing anyway
- you don't mind a post showing up in your feed a couple times a month
... then drop a like, follow their page, like some posts, whatever.

The longer story is that I've been dating Hot for Teacher since March of 2022 and knew about her passion for this, but it wasn't until she asked for my help at a porch party event today that it lit a fire for me. I was so moved by it. It's like someone explaining fireworks to someone who hasn't seen them... and then showing them actual fireworks. They really do great things and I'm hooked as a volunteer.
If you're up to it, do it. If not, forget I even asked. Thanks, y'all.
