I really need to get my hobie 16 in the water...

Hobie 18 behind what looks like a '77 Celica! God I miss those days. I got a speeding ticket in college towing an 18 Magnum to a regatta behind my '83 Cressida. I DO NOT miss the nationwide 55 mph speed limit.

I really need to get either my H16 or N5.5 wet too. Been far too long but I have to move two dead cars or a currently motor less Sea Ray to get to the Hobie.

I'd love to learn how to sail a Hobie! I was looking at renting a Wave with no jib but the guy would not let me with no sailing experience, he would not teach either.

I'm having fun learning to sail my 14' monohull, but it is in no way the race vehicle that a Hobie Cat is.

The 18 is an order of magnitude more boat than the 16. I didn't follow the link, but if it's what I think it is, the Hobie dealer showed it to us on the big screen shortly after we bought our 16 in the early '80s. Dear Bob, I miss that boat.

This is an easy one... Find the fleet nearest you and call them up.. Somebody will get you on the water.

And if you can't get anyone near you by phone or email.. Just let me know.. I'll send word wherever you are and find someone who will teach you

Just bigger and heavier... a few more strings to pull. The H18 is Caddilac on the water.. the 16 more of a sports car in terms of how they feel.. Sure the 18 might be rated a bit faster around the course, but the 16 IMO is more fun to sail.

If you want to race, and don't live in Texas.. an H16 is the way to go.
