I saw one of these over the weekend and it was crazy looking. I'd never seen this configuration before. I was next to him on the highway and kept looking at it, scratching my head.
This is not the truck I saw but is the same layout. It is so different from the other 99% of trucks out there that it looks custom.

They also make it in the 5.7 with 4x4. There has to be less then 200 of those in the world and even then I bet they are all white.
That depends on whatever the "current" definition of "regular" bed is 
For most of 4 decades (does decade still mean ten years?) full size trucks came with either a long bed (approximately 8') or short bed (around 6') and every single person I knew during those years, called the 8', a regular bed.
Looking at FBM, or talking with younger folks, it now means anything the person saying it wants it to mean (and shame on you, if you don't know exactly what they think 
)
I know it's old now, but one of my few new vehicles, was an 04 Tundra Regular cab Long bed. At that time it meant it had two doors, a couple inches behind the doors, and an 8' bed. Not rare at all at that time.

I always think of this example that Toyota made to showcase all of the TRD parts that were offered at the time (supercharger, big brake kit, drop suspension, sway bars, wheels, etc).

Round these parts that truck would be called "short cab short box". Other variants of different configration would be "crew cab, short box", "extended cab, long box", etc. Regular isnt part of the parlence.

Never actually heard "short cab". Or seen it in an ad (which is where "regular" is used, well, for whatever they want)
Now, for any cab aside from the old fashioned two door truck (where short cab is kinda descriptive, now that ya mention it) I've herd them called all kinds of stuff, and the manufacturers even changed names around, along the way.

Same here in the land of trucks. 2dr truck is regular cab, 4dr is crew cab.

Ah, but 4 door now means different things, as well. Ya know, two that hinge at the front, and the two that hinge at the back
(yes, I've actually seen them advertised that way)
And to make things even more confusing, certain manufacturers offer two different sizes of crew cab. Both Toyota and Dodge/Ram at various times, offered a "small" crew cab and a mega cab.
