Ok well really I have two but one will come apart for parts for the build and the rest will be broken down for spares. I already have my plans for the primary car and I am not going to deviate on that one.

The other two cars have rougher bodies however they have solid frames and I can build a good solid rig out of the remaining parts and one beat up body. I am kind of thinking I want to do something "different" this this one. Not your everyday car you would see on the street. Something that can be kinda rough and ugly but make people go "Damn that is kinda cool".

I am kinda thinking something inspired by this...just not quite as extreme.

Maybe bring it up to a stance similar to the Cutlass Baja car like this

Nope would be from this car here actually. I had lost the title and recently found it again.

I see the picture now. I have always thought a G body Cutlass could be a great start to a light weight race car.

I have seen the aluminum drums, aluminum bumper supports, S10 ZR2 aluminum driveshafts, Grand Prix aluminum front bumper, aluminum trunk lids, and aluminum core supports (Regal/Grand Prix/?) at the PAP. I hear there are aluminum hoods (1978-1980? Cutlass perferably diesels?) also, but I have not checked very many with a magnet. I know I have seen an aluminum hood on something G-Body...it was wrecked, and I am thinking Monte Carlo? but wrong?.....not sure?

It might end up some "Johnny Cash - One Piece At A Time", interbread aluminum monstrosity, but all I care is it goes like stinky stink.

I stared at this picture for what seems like far too long before I realized there was a woman doing some sort of dance on the hood.

Apparently I'm entranced, so I'm going to have to vote mad max style.

I would go with Baja car or budget drag car running a disposable 305 engine and a 200 shot.

Add some fake machine guns and mix in some death race!

Be prepared for the zombie apocolypse

In reply to Gasoline:

That beat up G Body that I posted a pic of, the first '80 that I got has the aluminum hood and so does my other '80. Both did start out their lives as diesel, the one pictured was swapped to a Pontiac 301, the other car still has the diesel though it is coming out and a 403 Olds is going in. I also have the aluminum drums and core support.

Now back to the Zombie Cutlass (kinda fits it is being raised from the dead) I am kinda thinking about going to a turbo diesel motor but I am not sure. There was a GN clone built using a Duramax that I have been kind of obsessed with for awhile. Raise it up a couple inches and fit some slightly oversized mud terrain type tires. Ditch the trunk lid and do something like the back of the "Road Warrior" car. Front, rear and side "armor" like that Camaro along with some sort of reinforcement over the windows. Maybe a place inside to mount a shotgun and an AR carbine

Hmmm what other evilness can I cram into this thing...

I think one of the hatchback Cutlass' would work better for the open back Road Warrior effect.

Whatever you do, you need to keep the chain on the front, even if it's in front of a steel plate bumper.

I will be on the lookout for a hood. Thanks for the info.

The diesel soot certainly adds to the effect.

Besides didn't you ever want to build just a weird off the wall car for fun?

G-body hood-rats would E36 M3 their shorts when you show up with your 6" lift to clear the 33" mudders instead of the rubber-banded 26" rimzors. which is exactly why you should build it into a pre-runner.
