But everyone keeps telling me how lucky I am.
I went to my family doc for a totally unrelated matter and she mentioned that I hadn't been there in 4 1/2 years. She decided to take advantage and send me for a bunch of tests along with a colonoscopy. It was during the colonoscopy that the doc found a polyp in my ileum. It turned out to be a carcinoid tumor. Things happened fast after that and I'm booked for surgery Tuesday morning. It looks like I'm going to loose about a foot of my intestine. My blood and urine tests all came back normal. My CT scan shows an isolated mass in my ileum. No swelling of the adjacent lymph nodes and no other tumors were found, so I guess I should be happy. The surgeon admits that more may be discovered during surgery but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I have absolutely no symptoms and I feel fine. I have no idea how far this would've gone if it hadn't been found when it was.
Man , I hope they can get it all and not find any more.

Wow man. I hope everything turns out ok.
Sounds like my father about 10 years ago, everything worked out and he still rolling strong with no need for more surgery.
Get well soon as race season is on the way.

I'm sure you're anxious to get it cut out, and I hope surgery (and recovery) goes smoothly for you.
Any mention of post-op chemo?
Wow, That SUCKS !!!! and yes, I guess you are Lucky. ESPECIALLY since you didn't have any symptoms. Praying things turn out Great for you.
Colon cancer of various types runs rampant in my family. It took my grandfather and one of my aunts, and nearly took my mother and my other aunt.
I'm so happy they caught it when they did. Cancer sucks.
Consider prayers said for you and your family!

Well, good luck. The big C has really been a bitch around here lately.
Catching it sooner is always preferable to later if you don't have a choice to avoid it entirely. Here's to a positive prognosis!
Sorry to hear that life is bending you over this way.
Keep your spirits up and keep your stick on the ice; we're all pulling for ya!
Best of luck, my GRM friend. Cancer pisses me off.
Damn, sorry to hear this. Just know there are a bunch of strange guys and gals that are pulling/praying for you.

If it's any consolation I'll be thinking of you the next time I have to do a Colonoscopy. Never know whatcha might find...
Hey man sry to hear that. As the wife just pointed out your tolerance for bullcrap just got shorter.
Butt seriously you will be in our thoughts and prayers. I hate cancer.
If you need an ear or if it goes down the route where you get to experience the joys of bag life, or have any questions about that, chemo or radiation don't hesitate to reach out to me or ask. Here's hoping that the amount of suckage is minimum.
Don't worry, you'll be fine we are pulling for you. My sister just kicked thyroid cancer to the curb, you can do the same.

Kick that E36 M3 to the curb. Cancer has decimated my family and we've lost too many GRMers already.
Man I to am pulling for you. Sounds like it was found somewhat early which is a real good thing.
Damn, I'm sorry to hear that. Hope they can get it dealt with.
I'm not sure that is the best weight loss plan, but at least afterward you will be able to quantify how much less full of e36-m3 you are vs normal people. So you have that going for you, which is something.
Good luck!
Berkeley cancer. Kick that thing's butt!
