I repeat...call the insurance company.  

From the photos, I'm going to say around $3500.

THIS. Every single time. I can't tell you how many claims I get from people that tried to keep it out of insurance but then it went exactly like Doc says.

I talked to my insurance person. She said we have time, and that I can get an estimate done to give to the other driver. He'll probably decide to use insurance after all.

I checked the notification requirements at Geoffrey's suggestion both in my home state and in the state where this happened. There's no requirement since the damage didn't require the vehicle to be towed and nobody was hurt. I may do it anyway if I can figure out who to notify. Now the challenge will be finding a body shop that will work on "them electrics". That seems to be a thing for some reason.
