thats what the clip was about. but every Family Guy episode is basically a lampooning of generations of television & movies.

not only that, lots of Family Guy's appeal is short attension span sub-references to the last 30 years or so of pop culture.

Its self referential humor.

I was raised by a TV, I had more than 4 hours a day every day for a large chunk of my childhood. So the appeal to me is different than people who didn't get that kind of pop culture input.

Zomby doesn't "get it" probably because his TV input was far lower...

I think they are funny 80% of the time. Though I tend to pride myself on my knowledge of pop culture, among other things.

okay, then.... I wasn't addressing your post in the first place, I was just addressing Zomby's note. He didn't qualify his remark at all, he didn't say "sometimes, i don't get Family Guy." He just said he flat out didn't get it with no other condition applied.

Never was there a discussion of deciding wether or not FG was 'stupid' or 'when' it is in Zomby's or my own posts... In fact, the content of your particular post being music related didn't even factor in. I was just offering my insight on Family Guy's appeal that escaped Zomby.

I'm not sure I understand the nature of your stilted responses to my posts, but they seem agitated somehow.

The amount of TV watched has nothing to do with relevancy or humor of Family Guy. I'm about to be irreverant here, but here goes anyway. It's kinda like SNL. There's hours and hours of very mediocre humor for every funny scene.

They make good compilations but can be a complete waste of time most nights.
