The LEAST funniest person ever said: Wanda Sykes was funny (get over it) By Yael T. Abouhalkah, Kansas City Star Editorial Page columnist Oh, boy, Wanda Sykes is in trouble. That's what you get when you make fun of Rush Limbaugh. But while conservatives were screaming Monday, let's face it: Sykes said something mean but also funny about the right-leaning Limbaugh at the White House Correspondents Association dinner Saturday night. Boy, Rush Limbaugh said he hopes this administration fails – so you said you hope America fails ....To me, that's treason. He's not saying anything differently than what Osama bin Laden is saying. You know, you might want to look into this, sir, 'cause I think maybe Rush Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker, but he was just so strung out on Oxycontin he missed his flight. These dinners are supposed to feature sharp-elbowed humor, and Sykes delivered. In fact, she also poked plenty of fun at President Barack Obama and others in his administration, a required part of the program. But by Monday afternoon, her comments on Limbaugh were drawing ridicule from the right -- and a bit of admonition from the White House. Spokesman Robert Gibbs said he hadn't talked to the president, but added: "I think there are a lot of topics that are better left for serious reflection rather than comedy. I think there's no doubt 9/11 is part of that." Then again, Sykes wasn't joking about people being murdered by terrorists. She was comparing Limbaugh to a terrorist for his comments about the Obama administration. Over the top? Probably. Funny? To some, yes. As Sykes even said after her comparison of Limbaugh to a terrorist: "Too much? But you're laughing inside." Yes, plenty of Limbaugh critics were doing just that on Monday, even as they awaited the usual apology from the White House and others who attack the radio talk-show host.

I liked the joke personally.

If he would have made similar comments about a black female, E36 M3 would have gone down. Career ending E36 M3. But she just made the news. BOOOOOO-Urns.

Well, after hearing OVER and OVER and OVER from ALL the right wing talking heads about the "tasteless" humor Obama used on himself this weekend.....THANK YOU Ms. Sykes.

Sykes voice is The Bomb.

She was a bit rough, but I can't think of a more deserving target.

I don't "follow" Rush, but like many people, I am aware of his continous race-baiting.

He famously said to an African-American female caller: "Take that bone out of your nose and call me back." It may be hard for thoughful persons of all political views to fathom, but it appears that Limbaugh fans actually approve of comments like that.

I've always enjoyed Wanda Sykes' stand up act. What she said about Rush was over the top, but that's kind of the point. Damn near everything that guy says is over the top. How could he deserve (or expect, for that matter) anything less.

Also, as a Kansas Citian, I wholeheartedly agree with the OP. Yael T. is not funny. Not in the slightest.

No way, the rabid listeners to his retoric didn't turn on him after he lied about his weight loss, drug abuse, and was busted with prescriptions not in his name, to include Viagra. They haven't turned when he openly stated he hopes our president fails, and despite his so-called "pro-military" stance has yet to drag that pasty fat carcass of his to visit his many fans in theater that support his right to be a money-chasing unprofessional, and just terrible broadcaster, I doubt they would get upset if he made a remark about a female comidians kidneys failing.

I don't think it's the listeners that would have anything to do with it at that point.

I do not agree with everything Limbaugh says, but once in a while he is correct. He is always a pompous ass. And that's coming from a conservative.

I like Wanda Sykes; every time XM Comedy pops her name up I start giggling. If you've never seen 'In the Barnyard' on Saturday mornings, you are missing some of her funniest clean stuff. Doesn't mean I agree with her politics.

I fixed that up for so that it applies to all parties from both sides of the political spectrum.

Sure they would. He's not a goverment employee, there is no comittee to recall him. He makes money, by his own honest admission, he sole goal. For that one note of honestly, I give him a little. So as long as peaple listen, the stations that carry him can still sell adverstising space, and everyone still make money.

It is all about the listeners.
