A blind pig finds a truffle every now and then too. Heck, even I'm right once in a while (to the amazement of my girlfriend). 
I'll say this for him. He can say completely outrageous stuff, even made up stuff, and people believe it. Not only that, but when he gets caught in a lie, or a scandal, his listeners just shake it off. Cultivating that kind of fan base is pretty impressive. The only other people who immediately come to mind for doing that are Howard Stern and Hitler. I'm not equating the three in anything but their ability to gain devoted fans.
