if the free market said that the property was worth more as a drive in movie theater, then it would still be a drive in movie theater... or at least they would have rebuilt it elsewhere..
Yeah, drive-in theaters sound romantic and all, but basically they suck as a business. They can only make money for 3 or 4 hours a day, and the screen and sound are inferior to what you get in a traditional theater. Given that the screen and sound are the only reason to go to theater rather than watching a movie at home...
I mean, they've got poles all over the parking lots, so you can't even use 'em for autocrossing! :)

Walmart is the devil, ruining small business since the death of Sam Walton
not just Walmart (Target's just as bad as far as ruining small business)... it started A LONG time ago .. with the first department stores ...
Sears/Penny's etc ... started putting the mom and pop clothing stores out of business ....
the first big box stores started putting the mom and pop hardware stores out of business ...
the first large grocery stores started the downward spiral of the local/small time meat markets ... etc ....

^^ This. And I was giving some people a 'by' because it's such a high shot. The sad thing is? Most of the ones circled, even if they ARE parked over the line, are good parkers by todays standards. What a shame.
There was the minivan that pulled too far forward, and the truck that's sticking 2+' into the isle.
I see a new game here. Look at big parking lots in google earth and look for crappy parkers.

I stay away from Wal Mart. THE PEOPLE scare the E36 M3 out of me.
They mount my Hoosier slicks for $7/tire. I don't really have to even go in - I could just stay on the little bench they have outside the garages. I do go in because you can't see people like that anyplace else unless you go to a NASCAR infield or maybe Wrestlemania. It's the entertainment for the 45 minutes it takes to do 8 tires. :)
