Every post you've made poo-poos the movie, and yet when I make a joke about [people that don't like the EpIX], you get upset? This is why we can't have intelligent debates anymore. "Agree with me, or you're wrong."

Yes, Rise of Skywalker (Palpatine, really) had it's problems, but many people, here, enjoyed the movie - some even moreso after seeing it a second and third time.

No dude, this is all you. I opined that I disliked a movie and stated reasons why. I never told anyone not to enjoy it. In fact, I celebrated with people who did enjoy it. You don't like my opinion so you think it's okay to call me a "little bitch" about it? You are the problem. Never in my 20+ years on GRM has anyone ever thought that it was okay to drop terms like that on me or anyone else, in jest or not.

Good day to you, sir.

I do sincerely apologize for the "like little bitches" part of meme. I did not create it.

Is this where we lock a freaking Star Wars thread because people can't be civil? Really?

Late to the party, but just saw it tonight with my two sons ( ages 12 & 10 )

For what it's worth, all three of us were disappointed.

It was, really choppy and not coherent.

Saw it, loved it, warts and all.

My opinion is that JJ Abrams and crew have successfully extinguished the dumpster fire Lucas Created with his greatest work. Episodes 1-3 lost the plot, and the new stuff is fun. The thesis of this movie-"We do it together/They win by making you feel alone" (paraphrase, of course) is particularly welcome during these tumultuous times.

Bravo, Bad Robot crew.

FWIW I was disappointed. I got the impression that I had seen all this before. My expections for the ending of a great series was not met. I almost walked out about 2/3 in but wanted to see how it wrapped up. Meh.

I saw it. Liked it more than The Last Jedi, but wasn't a huge fan. Just felt kind of clumsy and unsatisfying.

Palpatine returns and threatens the entire galaxy and that just gets slipped into the opening crawl? Seemed like a weird choice.

After 2 previous films hearing about the Knights Of Ren, they show up, just stand around like a bunch of extras in a Slipknot music video and then get dispatched fairly easily. Disappointing.

What was with the sexual tension and Finn with darn near every character? Poe, Rey, the annoying gal from the last film, the storm trooper deserter lady who they jammed in for 30 seconds with no major explanation. And what was the point of that woman?

Rey being Palpatine's daughter was also weird. When did Palpatine have a son? And nobody thought that was important to mention or watched the guy at any point? Also, with a recent comic confirming that Palpatine manipulated the midi-chlorians inside Anakin's mother to cause her to become pregnant, that means he was both Ben Solo's great-grandfather and Rey's grandfather. Makes that kiss at the end a little gross, right?

Also, the whole bit with Chewie was very poorly played off. "Oh, you blew up the transport, but Chewie was on another transport that you didn't see." As sad as I would have been to see Chewie die, it would have had much more emotional impact and given a stronger case of "Rey can't trust herself" if she had actually killed him.

The Empire has now had two Death Stars and Starkiller Base blown up by lucky shots. So, they spend decades building this entire massive fleet of Star Destroyers, which need some sort of beacon to get off the planet, and they only put a beacon on the ground and one on a ship? C'mon, you know the Rebel Alliance pulls off one-in-a-million victories and you had all that time, put a beacon on every ship. You can't cut corners and go cheap when you are trying to rule the galaxy.

I did like that they redeemed Poe after the last movie. Honestly, I think I just want a Poe movie at this point. Set it a few years back during the war against the First Order and give us some awesome space battles with the rest of his squadron. I'm one of the weird people that much prefers the starfighter and capital ship fights over the lightsaber fights.

It was fun, but terrible.

Unfortunately, the Star Wars Universe has largely hinged on the movies as canon. While the Mandolorian may expand the universe and "stories" can isolate that timeline from the stupid details of the movies, it can't make the events of those movies anymore interesting. Unless we go back in time, or far into the future of the Star Wars Universe, that period of time is mostly dead from a story standpoint, at least to me.

I hope Picard does the Star Trek universe some justice. Otherwise we'll be needing a new sci-fi story. At least The Expanse is good.

I'd love a good starship movie with Poe and Snap Wexley (Greg Grunberg's character) and some of the other pilots shown throughout 7-9, without all the Force mumbo-jumbo. But after The Last Jedi, Solo and Rise Of Skywalker have all not been resounding successes, they have decided to idle the Star Wars movies going forth, as they perceived people getting burnt out on the franchise. But with the success of The Mandalorian, and them moving forward with the Obi-Wan show, maybe we could get a TV show instead.

Was I the only hoping that we'd have an evil C3P0 running around for the rest of the movie?

Now that I've had some time to reflect... I think it was exactly as good as I expected, not great, some holes, waaay to fast flipping between scenes. Generally alright.

Finished up the Mandalorian over the weekend and this has reset the bar for sure. Liked it a lot more than RoS.

I liked it. It was exactly what I expected, not too deep, space opera. They have all been that. None of them are Oscar worthy best pictures, just fun, exciting adventures.
