Are you guys excited about the new Obi Wan series?
After Mandalorian and the new Marvel shows, I'm on board with any of the new franchise stuff on Disney+.
I'm not nearly as excited for Kenobi as I am for the Ahsoka show (Ezra, hopefully!). Still gonna watch it though.
Meh.
Since Mandalorian, I have not given up on Star Wars. But I'm also not holding my breath that it's going to be good. Wouldn't be surprised if it's just slightly better acted than "Solo". Especially since Favreau and Filoni don't appear to be involved.
Will wait until it all drops, listen to reviews, and decide then.
Just like all that Endgame stuff, there is simply too much time investment for me to keep up. I haven't even watched the Mandarin yet. I hear there's a baby Chewie or something...
Mandolorian is pretty good but the last couple movies were really really bad.
I'm not sure Disney has a handle on Star Wars for whatever reason

I dunno about that. Disney did Rogue One, Mandalorian and some of the animated series. They nailed that E36 M3. I think they just didn't have a handle on JJ Abrams, or Rian Johnson and gave them too much leeway. Disney seems to have a bad habit of allowing their IPs to get away from them when they are with a well known company or producer/director. EA's Battlefront II was a great example of this.
When the 1-2-3-4-5-6 box set came out on blue ray a couple years back, I bought it and a blue ray player just for it.
Then, of course, I had to get 3.5, 7, 8, and 9. Just because I needed to complete the saga.
And now I'm done. I see where it's going, and I do not want to watch any more movies, I don't want to collect any more movies, I don't want to have to keep up. 9 ends it. I'm good. Moving on.

In my opinion, marvel movies can eat a dick. So much bastardization. So much deviations from original plot lines. So much pandering to the sheeple masses. Can anybody just be original anymore?
In reply to Vajingo :
I'd say picking out less well-known characters is as close to original that movies based on comics can be. Thanos, Black Panther, and Ant-man existed for 40 years but they weren't universally known until the movies. But yeah, they need to be dumbed down to sell to everybody.
My problem with "cinematic universes" is all the movies just feel like high budget TV episodes.

Canonically, the MCU is a different Marvel-verse. The one we all know is Universe 616, the MCU is Universe 199999.
Its no different than a What-If comic.
Everything after the OG 3 is horrible. Everything. The small morsels of goodness only taste that way because fans are used to eating the dogE36 M3 that they usually get.
Disney is playing a game of "How hard can we kick our fanbase in the nuts and have them still buy our plush yoda toys?"
And don't cry any tears for Lucas either. He may have sold his kids to [insert non-offensive term for evil MF'ers] but he sure AF wasn't treating them any better.

OK, I'm reviving this. We just watched Ahsoka and I enjoyed it but was underwhelmed. It seemed like a long way to go just to set up at least 3 if not 4 possible follow-ups / spinoffs.
Admittedly we haven't watched the 130+ episodes of Clone Wars so it's possible I'm not getting some stuff.
*SPOILER ALERT*
I liked Andor a lot, and Boba Fett, and of course, Mando. Obiwan was pretty forgettable. Is this a writer/director thing, or what?
In reply to Duke :
I wasn't satisfied with Sabine either. And I've heard a LOT of folks didn't care for Ahsoka in this show. In CW she was eager, decisive, and ambitious. In Rebels, she was a lot more laid back, but still willing to face Vader 1:1. Here, she seemed a lot more hesitant. Idk. Most folks are big fans of the younger version from CW, but I couldn't ever get into that series so I don't have strong feelings.
Ezra seemed well done. In Rebels he had already shown that he was maturing, especially in the last season. Now he's been basically isolated for years, and there has to be some soul searching and emotional trauma. I quite enjoyed his retained ability to basically infiltrate and stow away on an imperial warship though. Classic Ezra.
