We had the remains of Hurricane Zeta pass over the Mid-Atlantic today. In all my years of dealing with hurricanes and tropical storms, I never had one like this. Almost no wind, but a very steady, if light rain that lasted all day. The weird thing is, the water that was falling from the sky smelled like the ocean, that salty briny scent that you usually only find out in the surf. Never had that before with a rain storm of any sort
We get that in eastern nc sometimes.
Weird, our rain is also different than most tropical storm remnants.
This morning I woke up to white rain that is accumulating on the grass and other stuff in the yard.

Interesting. We had a lot of wind until about 2pm. Then the rain started and like you we had rain with no wind.

The remnants of Zeta passed over us late yesterday and overnight. We have light snow here now after 12 hours or so of rain. Blech!
Every time I go to Florida that is exactly how I describe the rain.
I mean, even when it rains much harder, it still smells like the ocean.
