I'm not going but I'm passing dozens of bikers headed west across Michigan assuming Sturgis bound since it starts on Saturday.
Just jealous as I would love to be traveling for pleasure right now.
Anyone?

Sounds like almost as bad an idea as it was last year.
But yeah, I'm definitely ready to be travelling.
Traveling for pleasure isn't all that hard right now, even if you want to keep away from people. We've been out camping 3 times with our remodeled travel trailer, and have plans for 4 more times before it gets put away. One of those times for a week and a half.
The great outdoors is a wondrous thing.
edit- can we go down the path of pleasure travel instead of a debate over Sturgis?

I never saw all those cheap Harley's that people predicted last year.

That would break their little brains.
I can't wear it because "muh freedumb" but I can't not wear it because it says harley on it.

Con Crud™ was always a thing when I was going to D-Con years ago. Went 8 years in a row, got sick afterwards every time.
Don't forget deodorant. Ugh, I can still smell the anime room...

I don't go in the Amine room haha. I am slightly nervous about going because I have got the con crud two out of the three years I went but masks are required and I am vaccinated so the risk is stupid low to me imo.

Actually yes. Factory floor N95 for a few of the dusty areas.
Would I go to the downtown shenanigans? No. Hell to the no. What folks who actually love to ride should be doing iscruising out in the Black Hills. Those roads are fantastic for riding.
I just got back from a week long ride through Oregon Idaho, Montana and Washington on real motorcycles. We passed a bunch of loud Harleys that were probably headed that way. You couldn't pay me to attend that event!

One does not really know that. It's a grand assumption that few are vaccinated.

Yes, but they are like 3x as expensive, don't breathe nearly as well, and somehow they manage to leak oil.

Two things... Not proper Sturgis, because underwear.
Second, I thought about marketing reversible neckties that could become a bandanna for the modern Herley owner. Another option was rhe necktie/fake ponytail reversible.

That is what it sounds like when you burp the words "Beer me".

It is, but my facility is within a 3-hour "bubble" of Sturgis and we're expecting another surge on top of everything else we're dealing with from Delta. I think South Dakota has already stated they shouldn't, as if they'd ever listen. Last time Sturgis riders filled up our "High ops" rooms in the ICU and took up our vents before we knew it.
Co-workers of mine refuse to go, but it's not just because of COVID; go there and you're apparently just drinking, hanging out and looking tough. All the people telling me this were women too.

Is it though?
It was pretty clear the participants from last year had little a care about catching or spreading things around (which it is very clear they did). Now that it's available, yes some may think differently now, but you also have to consider a good percentage of them will have gone last year and a good percentage those will have already caught it and now consider themselves semi-immune.
Both of those factors say "low vax percentage" to me. The pre-infected of course are less of a concern. Hell, I highly encourage them to gather as closely as possible, in my opinion the faster we get all these people infected the better!
A Harley mask BTW should not only be pricey, but have the ability to remove any meaningful filtering easily which many will do since that is more "bad ass".
note: (some) Harley people are so easy to make fun of because they make it sooo easy.
