I have two spots reserved for a 9:00am EST Tour at the Subaru Plant in Lafayette, Indiana.
Okay, so there not any WRX's here....but it might still be cool. I toured the plant years ago and went into the basement to look at high pressure hoses under the punch presses. It was loud!
I am willing to send over the email should anyone be interested.
Contact me.
Also this weekend there is the Subaru Challenge.
I thought this was an industrial tour. Apparantly you can tour this plant two days a week at 9:00am.
Sorry about that.

They are having a special tour Friday night for those entered in the Challenge. Also, this will be there doing demo runs between run groups.
Could be interesting to see what a Time Attack machine can do around the front parking lot. IIRC the course is normally 40-45 sec. I'll be there. Last year I dropped by to spectate and sadly I was the only car with a GRM sticker. Hopefully I can get some picks from this weekend and post 'em.
If you have time, look me up & I'll buy lunch! I'm only 2-miles from the plant. PM me for details.
Pretty soon, they'll be building Camry's there too.

They have been building Camry's there for awhile I think. Camry production is in the old Isuzu half of the building. This from back when SIA stood for Subaru Isuzu of America. When Isuzu moved out they didn't even change the logo just changed the name to Subaru of Indiana Automotive. The Subaru side has been picking up what with sales going so well. They've hired a few hundred this summer to get the second shift back up to full strength.
Pete, you still working on Earl? We should meet up at some point since you're the closest forum member to me, and since I moved to Fowler Rossville is only 35 miles or so from here.
Ah...that makes sense...(I forgot or didn't realize).
I work for a company that's getting some component business on the new model camry coming out next year.
And yes, judging by our production, Subaru's sales are picking up (along with Honda, and Nissan).

Getting ready to head for SIA now for the Challenge. Wish me luck. This only the second auto-x I've actually made it out for. Hopefully I can do enough better than the other in the novice category to actually trophy.
I ended up taking 4th in ST. On Index I was somewhere right in the middle. The Turn in Concepts guys were very nice to talk to. They did do 2 demo runs in the morning. Only problem was they were on slicks and the lot was soaked from rain all night long. They had some grip issues. Their car also did not like the bumpy surface, and decided to show this by breaking.
