I posted a bunch of articles a while ago that talked about suburubs turning into ghettos. http://picasaweb.google.com/tiangotlost/ForeclosedHouseJupiterRushChandlerAZ

I don't know if it will happen, but trashed homes certainly makes folks property values go down.

Everyone is entitled to a house. When the big evil bank takes it away, you totally have a right to trash it, because they were making a profit with YOUR money, which is wrong. DUH!?!?!

I'm probably missing the forest for the trees (or willfully ignoring the forest), but two thoughts:

Real opportunity here for people willing and able to put these home back together.

And anyone who'd lock their pets in and leave them is berkeleyed up.

...or a real opportunity for yet another "speculator" to get in over their heads. In the ATizzLe area, neighbors are starting to chip in and clean up the houses, which is really cool, because if the previous owners come back, or some punk kid tries to break a window, they'll be met with an angry mob of responsible people.

And yeah, the pet thing is f'd. We got our indoor/outdoor kitty when the E36 M3 neighbors across the street moved out and left him.

transportation prices go up.. no mass transit cost of living entry goes way down in far flung suburbs...

don't know if it could happen, but..............

the first house was about on par for being a methlab.

Doing that to your pets is just wrong

the last article was a compilation of half of the others

forget suburbia, I love living in a place where I can go into the back yard with any gun I own, shoot all day, and not have my neigbors care...wait, what neigbors
