it's 12.21.12, bitches! no end of the world in sight. and FWIW, i just got home from the bar, throwing back some Jack and Diet (tall) in honor of my good friend Darren aka "Heavy D" rip 12.17.10. it sucks to bury a friend (especially one that's younger than me) but it's good to get the boys back together to reminisce.

i've been told roughly 5am my time. I'll be asleep for my own demise.
If I had been New Zealand......I would've severed all communications. That would have freaked everyone out.

It's nearing 5pm here in Australia...and things are looking no more apocalyptic than usual.
My house alarm went off at 0430. It was either the apocalypse coming in, or maybe just the wind. I'm thinking probably wind.
December 21st 2012 happened, and all I got was this lousy shirt
Nothing bad going on in Ohio either, except freakin snow
Hey wait.... aaarrgghh
(silence)
Yep snow in Indy. I figured either A) it was all lies or B) the world ended and its nuclear winter
Everything is still okay here in PA.
POWER OUTAGES! SNOW! WINDS! ICE! IT'S THE berkeleyING APOCALYPSE!
Last I heard was 6:11 AM but no one seems to know what time zone. It's 7:45 Eastern time so that must not be it.
The Mayans never thought it would be the end of the world:

At least that's how the local Chicago news was making it out yesterday before the snow even hit.
I can still see my grass.

Yeah I know but its fun to play along sometimes. The Mayans believed that it would mark the end of the current age. Someone at some point translated the date to the roman calendar as the winter solstice of 2012.

“What exactly are these people talking about?” says Manuel Poot, a guitarist and university student at the Mayan Intercultural University of Quintana Roo.
I bet he caught hell in grade school.

As i noted in my thread this morning, it is Yule. A pagan holiday and the winter solstice. Also, I think there are planet alignments.
The Mayans predicted their own demise. And they are in fact, gone. So didn't they actually get it right, just the wrong date?
