The weather and atmospheric conditions today have resulted in the lowest to the horizon sun dogs and halo I have ever personally seen.

No, not nearly as warm...

Ours usually show up when the sun is at higher points in the sky, we maybe see one every year or so. These are the largest I've personally witnessed.

Little ice in the sky in Idaho this morning, I see. You are freaking out the southern folk with your weather magic.

LOL. The ice was floating around at ground level today. Like walking through a cloud of really cold glitter...

F that noise. Only way I like ice is in a nice refreshing coca-cola.

They're a pretty common thing in northern climates on cold, sunny days.
Man, I miss having seasons.
Have been born and raised in northern Idaho, I was influenced at a young age to dislike southern Idaho. But having the opportunity to get stationed there a few years ago, I can truthfully say that it's a really cool place and I really liked it there. I didn't think I'd be much of a desert person but it's a really neat biome.
I wish I would of explored more. I never made it to the Bruneau dunes, Arco or Craters of the Moon National Park. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
