Where I am in CT, clouds moved in just in time for it to start. Doh!

The Super Flower Blood Moon lunar eclipse of 2022 occurs tonight!

Taken a half hour ago with a crappy cell phone.

unfortunatey, we've got clouds to the east, but I got this just before it was behind them. I set an alarm for a bit to see if the clouds dissipate at all.

Thanks for the heads up. Clouds has covered at first, but then moved to frame it. We saw it go to about 80% coverage.

Never get to see this, usually at like 5am. 5 should only happen once a day.

Beautiful. It was cloudy as the eclipse started but cleared up entirely by totality. It was red! Nice. Then I was checking it out again from my bedroom window and two bats flew between me and the moon. Super flower blood moon total eclipse bats.

My daughter came down and reminded me about it. Cell cameras couldnt capture it and I didnt have a battery chargrd for the real camera, but it was cool to watch until a cloud slid in. I was reminded that its better to watch it unfold live than to worry about filming it.

My zoom lens doesn't have enough zoom. But at least the skies were clear, last one was on a cloudy night.

I captured this one.  It was pretty much full (as it would get) by the time the moon came up on the west coast.

Obviously long exposure and way brighter than it appeared.  But I suspect if you were in a very dark area, it might look like this:

My mom called me last night and said this: "Tony, you need to go see the moon! Looks like someone stuffed LED's in it!"

And she wasn't wrong. I drove down the street to see it (couldn't see it from my yard due to the trees), and yeah, might have been the brightest, most detailed moon I've seen in years.

Later on, as I was going to bed, I took these with just my cell phone from my 2nd story bedroom window:

Right as the moon started to glow red, the clouds rolled in to ruin the fun, but still, these never get old.

Was clear here and stayed up waaay too late watching it. Tried a pic with my potato phone but wasn't good.

We got thunderstormed out here in the DFW area too.  Kiddo stayed up to watch it on NASA TV though.  I let her go to school late today.  She is a huge fan of science.  In November, we should have a great view of the next one near the new house.
