You all know that I pretty much never advertise our products on this board. Defend them, for sure. But never advertise.
I'm going to beg for forgiveness, since I'm not actually asking you to buy a car, but I would really encourage you to go test drive a car at your local F or LM dealers. Why? To benefit Cancer Research.
Between now and June 1, for every test drive someone takes of a F or LM product, F will donate $20 to the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure Foundation.
For more info, please see www.fordcares.com - you'll have to go to that site to download the registration form to make sure that the drive qualifies.
You all know F is really suffering right now, but to make a committment to donate $1M to a cause should tell you how important the cause is.
I'm not asking to buy a car, just find a participating dealer, download the proper form, and take the proper test drive.
If GRM wishes to banish me for this post, that's fine. I just think it's a good cause. (I've had a few friends who have been treated for breast cancer, and I also have a good friend who is currently battling a different cancer)
Thanks.
Eric
Pretty darned proud F employee.

Well, Ford has been supporting Race for the Cure since 1995, and has donated more than $100M, with 50,000 employees taking part if fund raising http://www.fordvehicles.com/warriorsinpink/raceforthecure/ .
It's nice to see large companies in it for the long run. Even in hard times.
Now that I'm running, I suppose I should do the Race for the Cure. Would make sense, wouldn't it?

Why would they banish you?
Yeah, it's a good cause. And who knows, it might help F sells some cars, too.

"advertising"- but I was willing to take the chance for the cause.

Well done.
Now....if they could do a similar thing to benefit JDRF....
Wife and I always go and drive the BMWs when they have the event here in town. Maybe this is one of those times to go drive a new mustang GT.
Yea, it would be a great opportunity to go drive a Mustang GT.
While I certainly had my beef with Ford over my wife's Lincoln, I would consider buying a car from them if I had the need and they had something I wanted. This is based on their refusal at this point to accept bailout money.

Too bad the Fiesta isn't here yet. I'd drive one for the hell of it. Throw down some cash for cancer and I'm there. I guess I could drive a Mustang instead.

We'd have to be jerks to ban you for that post. We're not jerks, are we? Well, maybe on deadline.

Yea, drive anything. I'm not asking anyone to buy anything (although, I'm not going to discourage it what so ever). The point is to make sure the 50,000 slots are ALL taken.
It's a gimmick, for sure. But it's also a great cause, IMHO.
Be cheezy, drive an Edge or something WAY out of character. Picture yourself in a hot rod Flex (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lR2qDU7dnQM).
Just print the form and take a spin.

Strange, I posted this morning, and it still shows David as the last poster.
