My buddy cletus(sometimes he hangs out here) and my other buddy shang used to fry things in fry daddies in college. I've seen fried chocolate and Shang even said he once fried a lettuce leaf to see what it would taste like..

But.. Down in Texas... They do it bigger.

I used to work at the grille in college. You can deep fry just about anything, I was known for deep-fried grilled cheese sandwiches personally.

Yeah, but those are the bad years at the end. Meantime, I'm hungry now.

good god, deep fried stick of butter.

I really wanna try this one. Seems kinda weird, but I could see how it would be good. Bacon cheese burger on krispy kreme bun. Saw it on the news once. I know doughnuts and cheese don't normally go together, but I can honestly see how this would work.

I was seriously thinking about going to the State Fair this year, but I've had an explosion of work commitments that are probably going to keep that from happening.

Man, I see a great weekend ahead of me for the 25-27. Take off Friday, go to Ennis and blow out the ear drums a little at the NHRA travelling road show. Hit the Fair for some Fletcher's Corny Dog goodness and just about everything in that article. Definitely gonna hit the chicken fried bacon stand this year. Saturday's gonna suck a little cause I gotta work. Sunday hit the Finals in Ennis and gorge myself on all that bad for you track food and blow out the ear drums some more. Hope the guy that sells the watermelon juice is there. Nothing better on a hot Texas day than cold watermelon juice, well okay maybe beer, but the juice is cheaper at the track. Monday's my day off to recover.

Save it for tx/ou weekend. Just being in fair park that weekend is an experience. The scenery will be better then too.

Been there, done that. While you're right about the scenery, I have a thing about being in a place that has that many orangeheads in it. Just realized that that Saturday won't be so bad as that's the Cars and Coffee weekend. Besides, I'm at the age where I look at the college girls and think if I'd gotten married and had kids, that could be my daughter or one of her friends. Takes the fun right out of it.

a glazed doughnut, grilled, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream in each "hole"

So, deep fried, then fried, then topped with frozen cow juice.

Wonderful from The White Spot, on The Corner in Charlottesville, VA

ps- you won't get anything looking like the picture, it's just the best I could find on short notice.

A wise man once said: "I know the difference between my daughter and someone else's daughter." Puts the fun right back into it.

Some would say that's not my problem. As with everything, I'm sure this will pass in time.
