Step 1: Have some of the family back for a second round Saturday night. That got rid of the sides(some given to them to take home).
Step 2: Put leftover meat(turkey and ham) in food processor with some gherkins and chop. Then add mayo and I have sandwiches for the lunch for the rest of the week.
Cooked thanksgiving food today rather than last Thursday. The turkey is meh (turned out pretty dry), but the gravy is the best i've ever made, and the mac and cheese is to die for.
I expect many sandwiches in my future, and a banging pot of stock.
Gallons of turkey noodle soup, ham beans, and turkey and ham sammiches. The sandwiches are the best, the ham beans are the most entertaining
Most everything goes in for stew, with the cold stuffing made into balls with a disher and put on top like dumplings.
Aside from in soup I eat my leftover turkey cold.
Put me in the butter or mayo plus turkey on plain bread sandwich camp too. The only other thing that might make it on the sandwich is my mom's cranberry relish, and only if I make it.
(Cranberry relish is the one side dish that will revolutionize both turkey and cranberries if you think you don't like them. Amazing, tart, sweet, tangy, perfect compliment to the meat.)
