Better mood... Beeeeer.
I've got about 5 cold beers waiting for me at home, on top of me going shopping tonight. So I might as well say... 17 beers waiting for me
Found a stream of Goodwood Revival, working on car projects tomorrow, going to Huntsville's Oktoberfest tomorrow.

Been here since 6 AM Central. Off at 6 PM. Then work 7 PM to 8 PM. THEN it will be beer time.
Took the wagon out for a 20 minute cruise. Can't be anything but happy running through the gears up on the column. It's slow and hot and loud and makes me smile.
(Frequent lurker here :) )
Also going to COTA next week for ALMS and WEC. ...and might be picking up a (sorta) cheap project/winter/beater/rallycross car this weekend.
The Manic Miata still isn't successfully registered, all 4 of the other drivers need oil changes at the minimum, I can't find a decent place for our club to autocross, I'm stuck at a desk job on a beautiful day, and I'm wearing suit.
Despite all that, I don't see any reason not to be in a good mood.
Finally went back to work on Tuesday after a great 10-day break. Last weekend was the Black Swamp Arts Festival in my hometown. Three days of great music, great food, and lots of beer, all while seeing old friends who I only see once a year.
And it's also official that we are adding a 3rd-shift at work, starting next month. Stressful right now having to oversee the training of an entirely new crew, but it means that I am a month away from getting my life back!!!
The month before my 10-day vacation, I was leaving my house at 2pm, and not getting home until 6am... Six days a week.
I love where I work, so the ridiculous hours have been tolerable... But knowing that I'll be spending less time at work, and more time playing with cars and enjoying life, makes the last 6 years of crazy overtime worth it.
All the hours made it possible to buy the project car, as well as the shop and tools to play with it. Now, I will have the time to actually enjoy the fruits of the labor.
Overall, I'm a pretty lucky bastard, and I'm the happiest that I've been in a LONG time!!!
I'm just dandy, too.
We've pruned the Maintenance crew at work down to 4 people, axing the two biggest slackers I've ever had the displeasure of working with. This means more OT for me, a very good possibility that I'll end up back on days sometime soon, and I get my own berkeleying desk. It's amazing how much your morale can go up by removing the problem employees. SCORE.
Moped is due to sell Saturday morning, those funds will turn into a '76 Scirocco to flip (or that's what SWMBO thinks is happening). SCORE.
It's payday AND Friday. SCORE
Three more work days until 2013 Vacation v2.0 in San Antonio, Texas. And while I'm not super excited about spending a week with my future-FIL, I am excited to not work for 11 days in a row. Also a SCORE.
Oh, and I'm probably going to see old man Peter Hook himself the night I return from vacation.
Feels good, man.
I'm not going to spoil the thread by posting my misery, so I WILL say (looking on the brightside) that working 14 hour days but getting paid double time after 7.67 hours has been a plus, and tomorrow/Sunday is double time all day.
And I still can't get over the wonderful relationship I'm currently in. I hope it goes far, as she is a keeper as far as I am concerned. She can't wait for me to get home
I just had a (benign) tumor removed yesterday. Three sutures and no pain. Tomorrow I race go-karts. And I found a $500 rust free P71. Life is good.
My new job (same place I worked at 14 years ago) is going well and the current management is really glad to have me back and they go out of their way to let me know.
Being blessed by this made me tear up a bit yesterday or was it the 1-1/2" rubber hoses I was cutting in the shop?
Got a solid 1.5 hours in the gym this AM and now I'm going to pull my newly leak free Bronco out of the shop and put gas in the reserve tank I just finally finished piping. The '67, '77, '87 car trifecta is almost complete. Picts to come.
Got results back from a blood test and I finally got my cholesterol in check. I stopped by the body shop and saw my car with freshly laid paint on it (schwing!), and I have some Sam Adams octoberfest in the fridge waiting for me after work. Today is a good day.
Refrigerator stocked with beer, rotisserie chicken and foosball on tv (just finished the ELMS race from Turkey)
Super excited about my job offer. Huge opportunity for me.
Huge weight off to be able to leave the job I am in whenever I feel like and to be able to think, "What're you gonna do? Fire me?" I think I'll give it 3 more weeks to get me to the beginning of next month so that I can relax for a month with basically no gap in my insurance.
I just drove 500 miles round trip to wrench on a buddy's race car for 12 hours so it would be ready for the enduro at the Glen next week. It fired up and ran like a top right at o'dark-thirty last night.
As a nice thank you... I'm co-driving it in that race. I'm in a great mood.
I asked SWMBO to marry me one year ago today, we just got back from a fancy seafood dinner. Yup, good mood.
I just got back from a 2-week road trip from Papa, Hungary to Istanbul (not Constantinople) Turkiye and back. On our return trip I ran the "Transfagarasan Highway" (Think Top Gear in Romania) in the family wagon on the way home.
To top it off, last night I got tanked off of a bottle of "Russian Standard" I forgot I had at the house.
Life is good :)
Oh, tomorrow I mail off my first mortgage payment (good and bad)
Did a little checking and figured out that the AC condenser fan relay in the Porsche is bad. It was either that or the resistor that's buried under the front fender and takes half a day to replace. 2 minutes to replace a relay vs. half a day. I'm dancing a jig.
