Probably not for long given the matter of fact way in which I was told their electronics screwdriver set was $65.00.
johnp2 wrote: Haha that's funny. The guys who previously owned my home were married. About a year after moving in I began receiving a similar publication targeted toward the gay community. Turns out they had been granted a free year if subscription due to being a previous customer. One... Full..year. It was fun at first, I'd drop them off at my buddies apartment and hide them in hopes a lady visitor would find them. At this point though, the joke has faded and I hope we are nearing the end of the subscription.
I paid good money to have a two year subscription of Black Inches delivered to someone's work place. Worth every penny.
At the end of the Street Survival school I was instructing at yesterday, the kids were given a chance to drive their cars (led, paced) around the NASCAR track at the Iowa Speedway.
I am now one of what has to be a very select few to have ridden in a Chrysler Pacifica around a NASCAR track.
I'm on vacation! Finally! I'm going out to Oregon to hang out with friends and do as much Nothing as possible.
We'll see if the brewery burns down or anyone gets killed (either through accident or murder) if I disappear for 10 days. Apparently it took less than 2 hours for my assistant and boss to get into an argument with each other.
The deck rebuild i started in July is finally finished! !!!
Feels really good to have that off my list.
I worked on the toterhome today to remove the 3 broken bolts on the ac mount. I was able to pull the compressor out of the way enough to drill into the bolts , then reversed the drill and they came right out. Love my new Harbor freight right angle drill!!
Finally defeated the great DEQ battle of 2015! Squeezed by with zero days to spare; what's life without a little excitement.
No more CEL, Vanos rattle, or coolant leaks. Heck, even all of the Drive Cycle Monitors are set. It would be super awesome if they told you that you could pass with 1 or 2 unset, depending on age of vehicle.
Tonight is celebratory beer and Yugo headgasket replacement/reassembly.
THE ENGINE IS IN MY QUANTUM.
Well, in the sense that the engine is physically in the engine bay. Baby steps to the Audi howl and antilag kabangbangchatterBANGPOPBANGBOPOMBANGCHECHCHCHATTERBANGPOP

Turned in the company HHR. Everything about it reminded me that it was a small appliance. Not a bad appliance, mind you. It was easy to drive and park, if nothing else.
Got keys to a 2010 F150. XLT, 4-door V8. A much larger, more nicely appointed appliance. Not quite all the bells and whistles, but more than I know what to do with.
Yeah, I may have to relearn driving and parking a pickup. It's worth it.
Out of about 10 or 12 traffic lights I pass, I made all but 1 some how this morning, and didn't miss that one by much. (Now I'll go post on the rant page how that never happens on the way HOME from work!)
Parts are finally going back ON the elky. Might actually be on four wheels for the first time in a month tonight.
Just got back from Munich last night. I went there with my son for European delivery of my 2016 M3. Now the waiting begins.
I accepted a verbal offer of a new job! Now I have a couple of weeks without work AND without job-hunting. Maybe I can finish the paint and trim inside the garage which I said was almost done ON THE SECOND POST ON THIS THREAD IN 2013...
First day on the new boiler job. Spent the morning w/ orientation, more paperwork, getting badges/ passes, watching videos and entry level safety training. Did manage a few hours touring the boiler house in the afternoon.... reminded me so much of our old Powerhouse. Management and crew are all about my age and we speak steam, not like my old place where they didn't know the boilin' point of water or even believe that maintaining boiler chemistry is essential to keep the pipes from a leakin' like sprinklers... which they did.
I feel so relieved to be outta that old job and back in my element.
In 1995, I drove my basket case RX-7 to see an autocross an hour from home. I watched it, and loved it. I just needed to fix a few things on my car, and I'd be ready.
I've needed to just fix a few things for a while. Got a good job a few years ago, but owned an SUV. Replaced it with something closer to the ground, but I needed to get a helmet.
I went to an event Sunday, and couldn't think of a reason not to participate. I went home, pulled out the credit card, and now I'm signed up for November 8.
Finally got the elky back together and safe. Along with the four wheel disc swap finished. Felt good to drive it around the test loop. Still need to align it a install the rear sway bar, but at least i can participate in fun car Friday.
Daughter #1 and I went to the Kentucky Horse Park last weekend for the Retired Racehorse Project. Her little filly performed perfectly all weekend and we were really happy to end up in 11th place in her division. Our new to us V10 F350 hauled down and back without a hiccup. We arrived home early Tuesday morning happy but tired. #2 Daughter is home this week from University. It's kinda weird having everyone home at the same time but nice.
