It is official!!
<This guy is now a Six Sigma Green Belt!!
Anti-stance wrote: Although I was told yesterday that I might have a cataract in my right eye, I'm still in a great mood. I got my itinerary for my first paying race gig in about 2 years. This time next week I will be at Circuit of the Americas with Duke of Understeer. We have a coral of about 6 or 7 cars we will be watching. I feel pretty damn good. Looming surgery be damned.
has DoU changed his user name ?
Loaned a co-worker $50 Wednesday to keep his water turned on. He just paid me back $55. Going to leave a $5 bill in someone's tip jar this weekend. Ridin' the karma train.....
I was in line behind a woman at the checkout at the grocery store … she was $3 - $4 short of having enough to pay for what was in her basket …
trying to decide what to put back on the shelf … I paid the missing amt.
when the check out gal told me what a nice thing it was I had done, I laughed and pointed out that the woman hadn't even considered returning the 2 40oz beers she had …
but that I can understand … you gots to have your priorities in order
Just completed my first differential swap. Open to torsen in the '97 miata.
I did it all myself and it all worked when I put it back together (I even remembered to torque the lug nuts). Yay for baby steps!
Well, been a while since I've posted some stuff on here. Got a win in PCA in GTA1 with a female driver. Went to Lime Rock with IMSA Porsche Cup and had a real good showing until it got rained out. Then went to Watkins Glen and got the win in GTC5.
Going back up to Watkins Glen in a week or two with IMSA Cup again and hopefully will come out on top in Gold with Mosing.
err three crappystinkcadoodleshaakaamerkdinkitdocuts it comes in three momentsssss arrrghh shiiiiiiiiizza moving on to next joyous moment
Hung out playing cards with a friend(Boss Monster, Kitties in a Blender) Took my car to it's inspection and it passed. Came home and went plinking with my 10/22.
Dad came home to good news of his military disability has been re-evaluated to 100%. This means a $38k lump sum and a sizable increase in his pension.
Now, grill, beer, and pandora streaming outside. A good day.
I have worked nothing but shift work and/or crazy odd-ball hours jobs since graduating high school in 1993 but now, finally, I've got myself a day job!
Granted it is only rotational (temporary) right now but I have been moved to the training department. I am super excited for this opportunity at a normal life.
I get to sit at my desk and actually work on projects that have long-term value.
If you're in a good mood, it's simply because you are too daft to fully understand the gravity of the situation.
Picked up a nice piece of overtime. I am on the lower east side of Manhattan at what is normally a very busy post. Today has been remarkably quiet traffic wise. After a nice pizza dinner most of my night has been spent talking to young ladies headed out for the night.
Left work tonight at 8:45, and despite my drive home being slowed by construction, I started on my first beer before 9:30.
I now have the next 9 days off, which is a much-needed break since we'very been working through our normal shut-down periods the last couple of years.
Finally, I will have time to spend at my shop, tinkering with the rx7.
I just found a stash of 200 or so rounds of good remington .22LR in my desk.
Now planning the bachelor party for my best friend in 2 weeks. The wedding is 2 more after that.
Haven't driven my car in almost 2 weeks so just got up and took it for a spin before it got hot outside. Got a cup of delicious coffee from a local roasting place, got some pastries from a local bakery and now I'm sitting down to watch the German GP. Then its IndyCar, rally cross, Indy Lights, and continental tire series to watch. Today is gonna be a good day.
Went to Universal this weekend and saw the new Diagon Alley addition to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. As a huge nerd, I'm absolutely thrilled. It was awesome.
Finished my first ever week of fitness camp for kiddos Friday. It was exhausting and overwhelming at times, but a definite success. Today I solved a staffing issue for the next one by asking for the help of an 18 year old young man I've been training for 4 years. It's fun realizing that the shy 14year old who could make it through an entire workout without saying a word to me is now someone I am lucky to have helping me with the next generation. It's also fun knowing I helped shape him into that young man.
Just returned from a whirlwind tour of London and Paris. Got to see some old friends and celebrate one's graduation. Actually happy to be back at work, which has not been the case for many years thanks to a new job.
Ordered parts to fix the 951 so I can prepare to send that albatross down the road so I can buy something fun AND reliable AND cheap to maintain. Wife is inboard with a Miata or an S2000.
Good times. Good times.
Just had a couple beers and talked about racing with a friend of mine.
Always good to drink beer with friends, but the best part of the day was when he told me that he will most-likely have the sponsorship $$$ to run Trans-Am 2 next season.
Fingers crossed!!!
Ordered parts from RA over the weekend. Estimated delivery Thursday end of day. Ca. to Pa., good w/ that, perfect for weekend work planned.
Chillin' out after my midnight shift this Wed. morning, decided to check tracking status.
And tracking says... delivered 15 minutes ago.
and yes they were
Oh man, have I been looking forward to making this particular post.
Today I was offered a full time job that promises to be challenging and rewarding, with room to advance. Oh E36 M3, I hope I haven't jinxed it!
Kick butt, girl!!
I finally scored a set of used rally gravels for about half of what I expected to pay and they only took like 2 days to ship. Also, vacation at wrightsville beach for the whole week after next, including a 3/4 day fishing charter. pretty stoked about all those things.
Today is my one year anniversary with the girlfriend. Considering I haven't dated anyone in 2 years prior to this, and she is amazing, I think its something to be in a damn good mood about
I got her one of them pandora bracelet things. She's wanted one for some time. I made some modifications to some of the charms (detailed them with enamel paint, just small accents here and there, turned out great IMO).
You'll need to log in to post.
