At Bill, that could be an issue.

This led me to looking at what's available around here and sure enough anything close is much more expensive. But if I was looking an hour out there's some cool options:

Well, that escalated quickly.

Count me in for a timeshare on a cheap multi-zoned property with no history of murders, if anyone finds one in western PA.

Expect to see a lot more shops come up for sale, fairly cheap, in the next 10-15 years. The average independent shop owner age is 57. And the average tech age is 51. If you pack light (portable lifts) and manage to stay ahead of their redevelopment into a vape shop, nano brewery, coffee house, dispensary. Then you're likely to be able to pick one up for cheap and then potentially sell it for a profit when the vape shop, nano brewery, coffee house dispensary wants to open in the area.

A real concern for me is the environmental survey that comes into buying or selling property that has had commercial car related activity. 

The great news is my wife is totally onboard living in a warehouse or garage. Just need to find one.

I think by law realtors have to disclose bad things that have happened at a property. It's better than hearing it from the neighbors. "Wow, I didn't think anyone would buy that house after what happened there!"

I had no idea that the northernmost boundary of Florida extended all the way up to York County.

According to my brother the realtor, you have to disclose a murder if it was the most recent owner or during the most recent ownership. After that you don't have to say anything anymore. Apparently meth lab follows it forever though.

That's what I learned as well.  My naturally-caused death of the former owner wasn't required to be disclosed.  I actually found out from a neighbor after I moved in.  Didn't bother me a bit.  It's a house from the early 1900s.  It would be difficult to find a house that old that DIDN'T have someone die in it.

The exploding decomposed body was a little concerning until I looked at how the work was done.  The whole house has new drywall, flooring, siding, windows, and even appliances.  It was covered by county hazmat and an independent specialty restoration company... one of those who does flood, mold, and fire fixes.

I would love to rent a piece of it.  Not sure I can afford it, and it is about an hour away, but truly tempting.  Saves the headache of finding liberally-zoned property and building a 40x40.  For that I'm looking at Dillsburg or Perry County anyway.
