I remember a long time ago I posted a pic of a "banana holder" than I saw in a dollar store. I'm sure I still have the pic on my phone somewhere. It was a plastic case that looked like a banana, used for holding bananas. Clearly a stupid idea that was destined for the dustbin of a dollar-store sell-off. But how dumb of an idea was it really? It turns out, just a little short of being dumb like a fox!
I had thought you were talking about these.
I can't believe there are TWO competing versions of this.
Just found the old pic I was talking about, taken June 2010:
Ok, so that makes three competing brands...
Just don't look up the 20lb. gummy worm.
In reply to Appleseed:
Well, that's certainly a thing.
as somebody who hates bruised bananas, but likes to take them on bike rides.. I do not see it being a bad idea
In reply to Appleseed:
Why not...looks like a perfectly legitimate snack option. Not sure why anyone would have an issue with this simple innocent candy treat?!?
Bananas go bad within a few days if left out. That's the purpose of these things---- they make them last longer.
Of course you could always just wrap the stems in aluminum foil, or saran wrap---- it makes them last much, much longer before going bad.......and it won't look like you have a sex toy on your kitchen counter.
well......another sex toy on your counter at least.....

My daughter loves gummy bears. We were going to buy her a 5-pound gummy bear and went to Amazon. They had offers for 7 New and 2 Used gummy bears.
Just wrapping the stems preserves them?

I just took a banana out of one of these. Silly as they seem I can toss my protected 'nana into my backpack on the way to work and it emerges unscathed.

Apparently there are options ranging from dollar store to Tupperware for protecting your banana:
If your worried about bruising your banana, you should also think about protecting your grapes:

"I tried the banana slicer and found it unacceptable. As shown in the picture, the slices is curved from left to right. All of my bananas are bent the other way."

Excellent
And then there's:
"Once I figured out I had to peel the banana before using - it works much better."

Yes, when I had a GS500 I often put a soft lunchbox (occasionally with bananas) in the tank bag, so I can understand there being some interest in such a thing. I'm just a little surprised at how many manufacturers appear to have gotten into the market.
And the convoluted one looks pretty useless compared to the hard-sided case versions.
...til you try to get it past TSA.

Bannana holder got me worried. Sure glad you guys weren't talking about a fleshlight.
Wait a minute....
It seems bananas are sensitive to cold weather too.

That's not really a "banana" holder....maybe a juicer?
