"As you can see from the pictures, the car has been damaged badly. The estimated total damage is around 90,000 euros (~122k USD). However, I don’t think that this car’s “life” is over, because somehow I think that it will be fixed and will be available for sale. A lot of cars get fixed after such accidents and other people drive them. This is nothing new, because a lot of people know it and this happens all the time."

It is obvious that sooner or later the very first crash is going to happen. It is extremely hard to prevent such things when the car is available for sale to anyone who has the money to buy it.
A 20 year old in a spankin' new M4--what could go wrong???
Why does a 20 year old have a car like that? That phenomenon drives me batty.
. #hater
Recently had a 19 year old in a brand new Audi hit and kill a guy on a vintage Triumph motorcycle near where I live. No witnesses, so they don't know who was at fault. Anyone wanna bet?
Honestly I dont think the article is poorly written as much as it seems like maybe badly translated from german or something
Yeah, it looks pretty much like a word for word translation from German.
I actually tracked down what looks like the original article in one of Munich's tabloids - no wonder the area looked familiar, I used to live less than a mile away from the crash site.
Article suggests the car is totaled, by the way.
20 year old crashed a 6-digit car, walked away with minor injuries. Hold on a second while I get out my tiny violin.

Lovely turn of phrase, even if I don't agree with the first part

My wife thinks I'm berkeleyed in the head because whenever I hear about some rich shiny happy person total a beautiful car I'm always more worried about the car.

If you think that that car can't be fixed, you must be a moron too.

Hello Husbarn, this is your friendly forum moderator speaking. That's a hell of a first post there, calling an established forum member a moron out of the blue and all. However, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt this time.
You're free to disagree with Snorklewacker's post, but knock it off with the insults. Any further insults will not be tolerated. Capiche?

you mean when they started calling M5's, M4's, yes? That car is easily the same size or bigger than an M5 from 15 years ago, no? just like most people consider the M1 an M3 from the past?

Yep same here. I'll add, I'm hoping he wasn't on daddy's insurance policy so the working people of the world don't have to pay to replace his toy.

Actually, he needs to learn to think a little faster than he's driving.

It's easier to make assumptions, it's becoming more clear to me just how negative of a place this is.

No way of knowing of course. But... you would think, if he saved up all that money for his dream car, he might have been a wee bit more careful to avoid the whole "driving into a tree" thing.
People tend to have far less respect for things they are given.
I've never wrecked a car. The loss to me would be horrendous and a collision with a modern street-tank could very easily leave me dead. When the stakes are this high you must learn to stay out of accidents or you won't be driving for long. Of course it's possible for someone else to make an accident unavoidable for you through no fault of your own, but that's quite rare.
A race track is the proper place for near-the-limits driving and not all accidents are of equal stupidity or consequence (See: Alan Simonsen's minor slip-up that led to his death, vs that guy in the endurance-racing Ferrari who plowed off of every corner and got away with it).
