Today I threw a wire wheel on the bench grinder (mounted on that awesome new stand).
Crap, it's amazing how well that works at rust and paint cleanup on old tools, bolts, etc without damaging the parts.

I'm 37 years old, I went Ice skating for the 1st time the other weekend. Same boat.
Peanut butter and banana sandwich with bacon. First one was about a year ago.
Did my first V8 engine rebuild last summer and now on my second. Lovin it.

Mine are usually some minor repair, that I put off for months. Then when I fix it, I always wonder why I put it off.
Much like the bad ground on the HVAC blower in the Colorado. Once or twice a week I have to wiggle it to get the fan to work. I still haven't fixed it. Probably won't for another couple of months.

My family goes back to my great grandparents that came from Italy and the other side from Czechoslovakia and we have all been Chicago area people for 5 generations.
My brother moved to Wisconsin and is happy as can be. Leaving Illinois when I retire might be in my cards.
There was some glue or something on the side of my new fiberglass bathtub for 5 years. I was afraid to use brake clean on it fearing I'd damage the finish. The other day it dawned on me to use alcohol. It was clean in under a minute.

It hasn't completely eliminated the pain. But I jumped the other day, actually really jumped. Haven't been able to do that in I don't know how many years. And I climbed a tree. Still painful to ride a bicycle, but not debilitating like before.

I've tried 3 times to move out of Illinois (not including college) and something has kept me from moving. I'm stuck here for a while.
I have nothing against Illinois except for how much it costs to live here.

That, the weather, lack of jobs, our corrupt state government, and if the meth-heads weren't bad enough we now have a bunch of heroin addicts wandering around like zombies. I actually feel safer at our home in Biloxi than I do in Rossville, and I don't have to worry about theft as much down there either.
Our initial plan was to go south for retirement too - I'm damn glad we didn't wait that long.
It's 4:30 AM on a Sunday (Monday??) night. I'm wondering why I haven't gone to bed yet.

Well I don't blame you for moving. We don't have the meth or heroin issue here, but lack of jobs are definitely an issue.

On the Illinois front, I'm in the same boat. It is just family that is keeping me here. I keep telling my wife that we need to move to Wisconsin (neither of us are good in hot weather). She's not buying into it for some reason that I still can't figure out.

August schell makes a great brew. Has to. 6 months of winter=lots of drinking. I just realized yesterday that mn is nearly into spring. I didnt miss snow.
SWMBO and I went to the zoo yesterday. Just the two of us for once, without any other family or friends. It was good.
