Upfront: this is meant to be mostly light hearted.
I've been really stressed lately with work and a host of other things. Chatting with a coworker I said well, if you want to remain stress free, don't buy or sell a house. Ever.
What else should you NEVER do to keep life simple?

Care at work, Office Space style
buy an IMS 911 to see what could go wrong
There isn't enough bandwidth for all of my poor life decisions regarding women.
Fly a helicopter.
Drive the speed limit on Chicago highways.
Dont take an interest in guns or boats and especially cars.
I won't include motorcycles because of the therapeutic value of riding.
Give too many berkeleys. The trick is to give just enough berkeleys, but not too many.

Get married. I mean, BEING married looks great, but this whole process of getting hitched is a little too intense for a couple of OCD planning types. Maybe it's just because it's tomorrow
Argue over the internets.
Own a house. Get married. Have a kid.
Avoid working in IT.
Plus 11tybillion to the kids comments, my oldest turns 13 this October and is already turning sullen and argumentative.

Another point of stress in my house. After having kids my wife has developed a serious dislike for my 12 year old black lab who insists on licking, digging, scratching, shedding, and general stinking up the house. I take a lot of heat over "my" dog.
I will never and I mean never own more than one (1) single cat as a pet ever again. I've said never on a lot of stuff, but this is one time that I have dug my heels in so help me God. There will be no more pets.
Steer clear of politics. I haven't paid attention to the stuff in about 10 years and I can see no sign of negative effects so far.
Also stay away of people that gossip. It's a bad thing and puts all kinds of thoughts in your head.
In reply to Scottah :
That's not a dog issue, as the behavior of the dog never changed, that's a wife struggling with life balance and not being happy issue, which is far more concerning. Sorry for you and the dog. I could go into why she's likely manifesting her anger and distain against the dog, but feel that this thread isn't the time nor the place.
