I'm off to Corpus Christi for a couple of weeks for work. I will have the weekend of 1/9-1/11 off. Boss says he will pay for a motorcycle rental, any decent places to ride nearby? If no good riding in the area, what other things that might be fun and remain socially responsible? I like mountain biking, kayaking, outdoors kind of stuff. If anyone is looking for an extra pair of hands I would be up for helping on a project. Working overnight so looking for daytime things to do.
Been couple years, not sure how covid has impacted the city there. Shoreline rd is cool place to walk/cruise, some marinas/shops/restaurants to check out.
If your getting a bike, I read article awhile back bout cruising hwy 35 north from corpus, hwy mainly stays close to the water, lots of little fishing towns along the way. There's a restaurant in Palacios that Anthony Bourdain did a feature at that's pretty good.
I'll post more if something else comes to mind
Local here.
Yup, the Lexington is worth the time. Depending on the bike, the National Seashore is beautiful and the weather should be great. As far as road riding, meh. The hill country to the north is great, south of here is pretty ugly, but as Subscriber-Unavailable said 35 North (take the Bay bridge, 181 north and it'll turn into 35) is pretty scenic, lots of little coves and bays and wildlife.
Lots of great food, great fishing (both bay and seashore). Something like 70% of the North American bird species migrate through here annually if that's of interest.
The Texas State Aquarium is very nice. If you're into selfies, the Selena statue is down near the marina. They light the current (new one under construction) bay bridge up at night, it's pretty cool. Bob Hall pier is on the island, lots of pier fishing (sharks get caught there during whatever season they come around in, I recall a 700# tiger being caught there a year or two ago! )...it was damaged in the last hurricane, not sure if it's partly open, closed or what. I can check if you'd like.
Hit me up when you're here if you'd like to grab lunch some day. My schedule is pretty flexible. russde 'dot' 93 at the g mail.

Oh, and I think the local auto-x club is having an event the 9th-10th (they do two days). I have an open house to do on the 10th but might be able to go on the 9th, you'd be welcome to co-drive the M3. I haven't been in two years, the caster/camber plates and Konis are virgins.
