Another "Things to do in..." thread here. I'll be in Wichita in mid-June while my son attends the Shockers bowling camp for a weekend. This means I'll have 4 days to kill. Considering towing my 2002 out and tooling around, joyriding, etc.
What do you all do when you have 4 days to kill in Wichita?
There’s a Purina dog food plant you can drive by that will make you gag as it reeks so awful. That’s all I got.
Stay in a tornado shelter?

Thanks for the suggestions. That gives me a few good ideas to look into. As far as Tyler reviewing my 02.....she's pretty rough but that may be right up his alley. Crappy, unrestored drivers seem to be gaining in popularity, though. Here's an example.

When I’m in Wichita on business, I try and get a meal in at the Bella Vita Bistro.
From the outside, it doesn’t have any more ambiance (or maybe even less) than a chinese buffet, but It’s a nice place inside, and they fix a mean osso bucco.
See a live band at Kirby's. This is a key place for me to go to every time I can when in town. Bring some singles and tip the band if you go.
Eat excellent Mexican food at Molino's, Vietnamese / various similar from the region food at Little Saigon, "American" food at AVI, pizza at Picasso's, Mediterranean at N&J's. There's other places but I like all of these.
Go to Spice Merchant and just wander a bit and buy some coffee/spices/etc.
Go to Nifty Nut House and try things (snacks, mixed nuts, candies, etc) and buy a pound of something.
Watch the sunset at Lake Afton.

Oh, and the Cosmosphere in nearby Hutchinson is an amazing collection of historical items from the space race, which you can see here; http://cosmo.org/ and there's some other stuff in Hutch but this is probably the peak attraction when it's not KS State Fair time.
Found out Buddy Guy is playing Wichita the weekend I'm there. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world!!
