That's exactly how my wife would react if she rode with me at an autocross. 20 years of marriage and she's never ridden with me - yet.
I was in tears laughing so hard.
I got a 10 year old that's been racing karts for 4 years. I can't wait until 6 years from now when he's in a car and can take his mom on a track day!

I took my mom around Waterford Hills a few years ago, she had motion sickness for about a half a lap, and then she figured out to look where I looked.
I even messed up, and screwed up the S, instead of risking going over on the curb, I drove over them off the track- she was ok with it.
Both mom and dad had a great time riding with me.
My wife took her dad out on an autocross once- he had fun, but her mom freaked out how fast she went with him.
(when my wife rides with me, she figures out the places she can go faster...)

That was awesome. What a funny lady. It reminded me of when I had first started dating my current girlfriend and she brought her parents out for an autocross event. Her mom was the last to go on a run with me in my Miata. She was screaming the entire time, which made me drive with the tail out even more than normal. I ended up spinning the car in the showcase turn in an amazing show of smoke and excitement. Her mom hasn't even ridden with me on the street since then.
My mom would probably get sick and throw up.. I have no wish to inflict that on her
my sister on the other hand....
My wife took a ride with one of the track record holders at CMP a few months ago. When they came in her eyes were as big as saucers and her grin went from ear to ear. Then she asked when we were going to buy a Z06.
My Mom, that's another story. She would do it, and then harp on me to never drive on a track again for the rest of my life. No thanks.
now.. I would love to take my niece. She is one of those kids who LOVES rollercoaster, tiltawhirls, or any other ride that throws some G's your way. Just have to wait till she is older.. at 11, I can only imagine her thrill seeking ways at 17
I knew the corkscrew would get her.
My mom had no interest in going fast whatsoever. She didn't like to drive over 70 on the freeway, and she'd never hesitate to tell me if she thought I was driving too fast. Then when she came back from a Florida vacation, she surprised me with a picture of her in one of the Richard Petty school cars at Homestead, where she did the passenger thing for a few laps. I couldn't believe it.
link Apparently, passengers get scared at Laguna Seca in Miatas as well as Z06's.
Damn, I wanted to post this. Great reaction to the Corkscrew.
"Mom, shut-up!"
"Don't pass him. Don't pass him!"

ROFL!!!!!
Damn Miata YOU SCARY!!
my mother in law had a similar reaction when i took her out on a track a few years ago. my so well she didnt even flinch at it and all she wanted to know was when she could drive. best reaction was my dad. and that was a combination of omg im gonna die's and you know you missed the apex on that last one. gee thanks for pointing that out to me dad.
A few years ago at an autoX a guy pulled to the line with his wife going for her first ride along. She screamed bloody murder from the launch all the way to the timing lights and everyone watching swore she did it on one breath. She never came back.

I had my wife on a ridealong in the Manic Miata at a fairly open course on my 5th or 6th run of the day (her first time ever on course). She howled with laughter the entire time, and whooped at the tight bits, even with me giving her pace notes on what to expect. But as soon as the car came to a stop, she hopped out and declined another pass. She's willing to come visit and spectate for a while, but she makes me promise not to make her get back into the car.

Yup! 3rd lap (about 5:10 or so?), "..oh! This is the worst one!"
My girl has ridden with me exactly once. Atl. Region autoX in the wet. Buddy of mine that got me off my butt to do autoX (I'm an ex-road racer, hadn't "turned a wheel in anger" for 10-15yrs before that event) rode with me for my first two runs, I think he just wanted to see whether or not I was a poseur after having to listen to all my old "war stories". He's the one that talked her into riding with me. "You gotta ride with him out there!"
She was nervous about it..but 60sec later, she said...
"That was better than sex!!"
I haven't talked her into trying it herself yet, but she did buy her stepdad's Jag. It's a work in progress.
