This is apparently known as a Tempo Matador. This model is apparently a 1958. It is amazing.

A face like that deserves to be included in the next "Cars" movie...

Kinda looks sweet compared to a Pacer !

A question for the ages. Years? No. Months? Maybe. You know what does give you a yearly subscription to fun? A canoe.

Loose the funky wheels for a set of steelies with center caps and get it out of the dirt. Beautiful machine.

Give it useable tires and ride height and that would be, well, really good.

I like it in the dirt, but realize that it is not functional that way. Air bag it.

That looks similar to the race hauler my friend Charlie has at ~Entropy Racing~. Wish I had a better shot of the nose. (I rented #63 a few months ago).

It's been re-powered with a modern diesel.

If you could get some more pics, that would be awesome. Old-school-firetruck-turned-car-hauler is a recurring dream for me.

No, actually I found it on accident. I was watching the Kid and Play (yeah, I know) movie Class act, and they had the epitome of early 90's lowrider trucks in it. Testarossa kit, chopped roof, tilt bed, the works. I got in the mood to see more hilariously tacky lowriders, and googling mini truck got me that.

So basically this is a VW Transporter in disguise.

Found on the Wiki:

Matador / Mayor = 1949-1952 - 1362 of these vehicles were built using a 25hp Volkswagen 1100cc motor and ZF gearbox. The incoming type2 Volkswagen led Volkswagen to cease supply of the engine, ending the model run.

But the important question with that fitment... does it drift?
