The Royals of all teams, vs most likely my Giants. This is gonna be a great world series, two teams doing it like they should. Without trying to buy a pennant, teams grow from within their own farm system. I love baseball.

I don't really pay attention to the standings, I just watch and root for The Diamondbacks (local home team) and The Pirates (childhood 'home' team) and then pay attention to the post season when Sportscenter starts up about it. I was not expecting the Royals or the Orioles to be in it but those were some great games. I am totally with you on liking the homegrown talent for these clubs, kudos to them both.
I haven't watched a baseball game since around 1993 or so. It was before the strike anyway. But I listen to a lot of sports talk radio and keep up with what's going on. Even with all the good stories coming out of this post season I'm not even a little bit intrigued to watch a game. I'm still more content to get caught up the next day. Maybe it would be different if the Reds were in it but I doubt it. I loved baseball as a kid but it doesn't appeal to me today
Living in Kansas city, I am not real sure what I did, but people keep telling me "We are going to the World Series."
I don't normally pay much attention to Baseball.. But this has been fun to watch.
Go Giants, Walk off 3 run shot to send the giants to the series. These games have been great. The giants werent supposed to beat the pirates in the runoff game for the last wildcardJust like 2010 and 2012. they dont take no for an answer. Pay the panda whatever he wants, make him the highest paid third baseman in the game
Sadly I just don't care to follow the series this year. No teams in the post season to root for or against.
Best part of the season for me was no ring 6 for Jeter.

The Giants didn't play last night, and they lost to the Cardinals in week 2. What are you on about?

one nice thing about GRM's forum … you're NOT required to click on any particular thread … don't like a thread … don't read it … therefore no need to add your snarky comments to it
When I read the title I thought they were allowing snipers or explosions or full contact or something to finally make baseball better than watching paint dry. Oh well.

I don't care what some of you say, baseball is king, and this is the best time of the year for the game. Although I don't like the Yankees I'm sorry for Jeter going out on a bad team I'd rather my Giants beat his Yankees in the series to end his career rather than the mediocre finish that it had.
I've always respected how Jeter played the game, the guy was clutch too. I can respect a player on a team I never liked same thing goes with Tony Gwynn rip one of the best evar
If people can do a crossword puzzle or read the newspaper at your games, your sport is slow and boring.
Baseball would be a lot better if it were hockey.

If you can do a crossword puzzle at a baseball game your not a fan and are there because it's an event. I have no respect for those "fans"
Good to see some baseball fans in here. Any sport has it's detractors. For me, it's soccer. Can't stand it. Bunch of grown men running after a ball. Once a hour or so, it rolls into the goal. Whoopee.

You are forgetting about the faked injuries!

And the fear of getting a yellow card or a red card........thank god they aren't green cards.
So, whats this about KC being the first team ever to win every game en route to the world series?

I agree soccer is also a total snore to watch. Golf is even worse. At least I've played soccer, I've never been on a golf course, except mini-golf.
All sports are boring to watch (including auto racing) if you don't understand or appreciate the game / never played it. As a kid I played baseball, football, golf, and a bunch of other sports--- all of which I enjoy watching now. I never played soccer, so to me it's like watching glue dry.
This doesn't mean soccer is boring to watch---- it means it's boring for ME to watch. Just because you don't enjoy something--- that doesn't mean it isn't entertaining--- it's just not your bag o wax......good for you.
IIRC the Colorado Rockies won every playoff game leading up to the World Series--- where they were swept by the Red Sox. I have to admit, I'm rooting for K.C., as I love the style of ball they are playing. (fundamentally sound--"small ball" ) Their games have been crazy fun to watch----that's one scrappy team.
I don't have anything against San Fran (now that scumbag Bonds is gone), but they've won it all recently. For K.C. fans, it's been a long time. As a Cubs fan, I understand waiting for a long time to win (or an entire lifetime! ) so I'm in the Royals corner for this one.
