I was chatting with our new neighbor today when he pulled out his phone and showed me something: Check it out, your house isn't on Apple's map.
Hey, he's right!
That blank spot between the two houses? Um, that's where we live.

I didn't know anyone opens apple maps LOL. The whole thing is a blank spot.
that is weird though. Is your house significantly newer that the surrounding houses?
In reply to DrBoost :
Nope, all built at the same time back in the '70s–like, we're all within a year of each other, I believe.
Maybe this is like Lost.
In reply to David S. Wallens :
It's probably because you live in a portal to a different dimension. That dimension obviously being GRM.
In reply to Pete Gossett (Forum Supporter) :
Maybe? I talked to both neighbors yesterday, so I know they can at least see me.
Is your house very foliage covered? Seeing that the image shows the outside dimensions of the buildings, it is likely to have been taken from aerial photos, but if the four corners of your house can't be seen maybe the program just eliminated it.
In reply to David S. Wallens :
Wow, that is weird. I looked at mine and it's there, but like John said, maybe it's foliage? My view on apple maps shows an out building that's not there now.
In reply to DrBoost :
My house & garage are mostly obscured by trees in Google's satellite view, but the general shape & location of both on Apple Maps is correct.
What I love about Apple maps is how it likes to take you to the back of the house even if that means you're on a cul-de-sac in the next subdivision.
In reply to PMRacing :
Exactly what I was thinking.
I already asked my wife (the accountant) if this means we don't have to pay taxes.
Is there another mapping site that is not Google or Apple that gives better results ?
Locally Google maps was updated 2022 , but Apple Maps is a few years old ,
I am trying to get better details on an area that had a brush fire that we go camping at ....
Better detail and maybe a timeline would help
I really don't understand why anyone uses Apple maps over Google maps.
My fiance has an iPhone so she always uses Apple maps, and then I open up Google maps and show her how stupid/incorrect the directions are compared to Google.
In reply to z31maniac :
I feel like that used to be 100% true but it changed a year or so ago. Apple Maps upped their game.

I went to compare but... Apple doesn't even have a web interface?
Check to see if your house is actually on the ground, or floating an inch above it. Its possible that when the Vogons built a hyperspace bypass, the earth was destroyed but then later rebuilt, and your house was the only survivor of the original planet and doesn't quite fit in here. All I can say is don't panic. And get a towel.

Google Earth sometimes has more current satellite images than Google maps and does have the ability to show older views.
