I turned 49 this year. One of my goals for this mountain biking season was to learn how to jump my bike better. I finally got to it when I built a new enduro bike in August. Two months later and I'm sending bigger jumps than I ever imagined I could.

Today, I’m heading up to see my parents for their 35th anniversary. Mom was 25 when they got married. Seems crazy, I remember it was a big deal when she turned 40.
That's fantastic (in a great way)! My parents are divorced, which isn't a big shocker when you consider why they got married.
This was maybe 7-8 years ago, I was taking my mom and my ex-wife out for lunch. I don't remember what the preceding conversation was that got us to this point and I asked my mom, "Wait, when did you and Dad get married?"
A few moments of quick math revealed that it was a super fast wedding because they realized they were pregnant with yours truly. So I still like to give them a hard time about that.

Same here. Parents married in January of 1970. I was born in July. Hmm...
I'm 38 in a few months. I've got to get my s--- together.
I have a successful career, great girlfriend whom I will marry hopefully next year. Everything is good, great really. But inside, I still feel like I'm not living up to my potential.

IIRC they were married in late September, I arrived at the beginning of March.

Here's a hint: none of us ever feel like we're living up to our potential.
Are you enjoying your life and not being a burden on society?
That's all you need to do.

you were the most fully-developed 3-month-early birth in the history of that hospital!!!
FB gave me this gem yesterday. I was born in 71. Surely Mr. Graybeard here is older!

Contrary to what somebody else previously stated, I personally feel like I exceeded my own potential, based on my origin. I worked hard for what I have today, and I worked a long time to get here. Is life passing me by? Of course! That's life. I wish I was 30 with my current status. I'd be having sooome fun ... hot cars and a vacation condo in a warm climate ... and more. But I'm seventy, and I am where I am today because of my initiative, and I'm enjoying it!
Make the most of what you have today. Enjoy life and plan for the future.

I was built in '78 (well, most production was in '77, I came off the assembly line in '78). If I cared to grow a beard, it would be white.
Also, I want that shirt.
When I look back at all those years past, there are so many.
I think, "Oh E36 M3, what did I miss ?"
