Have you seen those E Bates TV ads? There's a guy and (I guess) his wife sitting on the couch, she is talking about getting $900 in rebate cash and he has this sorta blank look. The screen then flashes to a screen shot, if you look quick the average rebate is 5% of a given purchase although some are as low as 3.5%. A little math tells me that if she got 5% on every purchase then to get $900 in rebates she had to spend $18,000.00. No wonder he had a blank look. If it was something really needed then maybe it would be worth it, but of course they don't go into the details.

Ebates is actually great, as long as you don't succumb to the mentality above. We get a couple hundred back over the course of a year. More, if something needs tires.
