BTW, my cousin was an F-14 RIO (Radar Intercept Officer/backseater) so I can relate.

I was like 7 when that movie came out. As a prop-head, I couldn't wait to see it. Man, it sucked. If you can't fool a seven year old, well...

As a side note, Tom Cruise is too short to be a navel aviator. Ha ha.

I hate to burst your bubble, but that character was based upon a real woman. I met her about 20 years ago when I worked at CNA. Quite an amazing person, really.
