I was most nervous about dying......
Looked pretty well composed at that speed, considering the size and shape of truck and trailer. Big cojones indeed.
I read where the last 15 or 25 mph was the worst, since it is has "brickdynamics".
Also read that the engine was "stock", as in no AM pistons, rods, cranks. Just upped the boost, fuel system and injectors to match.
Top gear tried this a few years ago. But in true British fashion they used a hopped up vauxhaul compact car. I think they got up to 110 or so and the side blew out of the rotten old trailer they were pulling.
How were they possibly able to make that much power in a diesel pickup without a huge, ridiculous looking four inch smoke stack poking up through the bed?
Everything that I thought I knew must be wrong...
Meh...you guys obviously have never travelled Highway 395 through the Mojave desert near a long weekend. That's when the "RV" series cup competition is in full sway
Rental motorhomes towing trailers full of OHV's are the worst. "But muh Honda ken do 90, why cain't ah wit 10K pounds of plywood and aluminum siding"

Somebody would die and they would cut the class down to 1000 feet.
some redneck gonna see that and try to beat the record.... and scatter his E36 M3 all over the interstate

most power duramax guys I see lack the stacks.......I was dissapointed to see all that unburnt fuel being dumped out the exhaust.....

If the truck is accelerating, how accurate could that be? Or are they just going for average speed?

IDK.....looked like 2 sets of traps though which would indicate time based average calculation. Radar/laser isn't accurate enough for that number.

Still diesel rice......regardless of how fast it is.
mad_machine wrote: I loved the end... but seriously.. that take some serious stainless steel you know whats
It would take so even bigger stainless steel rounders to ride in the travel trailer as it's goin' on down the road...
At those speeds, you have to wonder about the tires on both the truck and the trailer. That's a lot of heat!
Edit: After viewing the whole thing, it looks like they did upgrade the tires on the trailer, so I have to give them credit for that.
