I agree.
I didn't say he was successful. I'd consider myself more successful. He said it, and it's what a lot of people consider.

I'm going on his idea that tDon is the most successful.
We need to change that to tDon is the most greedy presidential candidate.

Just imagine!... If he could increase his net worth by a percentage anywhere near Obama's increase, he'd be worth more than most countries!
Obama's net worth increased by 438% while in office
Just hope the income gap gets back to something more like the Bush days.
I am mildly curious about what would happen the first time the supreme court decides on something that limits his power and he chooses to sue all of them.
divide by zero!!

Dude.. we all know the best way to get rich is to become a politican. It works for more people every day all around the world than entrepreneurship.

Not sure if serious.
Yes, people make money in politics.
Bust most wealthy presidents did not make their money in office. In fact, some went bankrupt. George Washington was probably the wealthiest.
Until Trump, of course.

Yes, this!
We could do worse. We're doing worse right now.
I feel the same way about Trump as I do Rand/Ron Paul. I'd like to see what they could/would do if elected, but that isn't reason enough to vote for someone IMO. My confidence in Trump is looow.
Still better than HillBilly though.

I've done some work for him too, getting him to pay up is a challenge, to say the least.

Except he doesn't have a reasonable level of business acumen. His companies fail, time and time again. http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/pictures/the-many-business-failures-of-donald-trump-20110511
Ok, now to flounder the flounder thread: Absolutely cannot, will not, under any circumstances, vote for Hillary. Ignoring the fact that I don't agree with her positions on about 30% of the issues, I don't want anyone near the White House with the last name Clinton again. I blame about 30% of the recession on Slick Willy, and even though they're different people, I just don't want that family instition in. As an aside on that, my dad grew up with the Rodhams and played football with one of her brothers. Dad said that she was perceived to be smart and ambitious, but the rest of them were pretty dumb.
In general I lean to the right. But I just don't know who I can even support. Assuming Hillary gets the nomination, it won't be the Dems. On the Reps, Jeb would probably be the closest, but I refuse to vote for him because of the same reason that I refuse to vote for Hillary. 3 years ago it would have been Christie, no doubt. But now I'm not so sure, he's seemed to take his bullying past the point of reason. 6 months ago I'd have liked Jindal, but his comments on the Paris thing make me think there would be zero chances of good relations with the Middle East. Wanted to like Carson, simply to get a Doctor (or Scientist/Teacher/engineers/non-businessman or polititian) in, but his views on gay marriage and evolution are not what I'd like in a president. Gigantic no to Cruz. And Perry, and Santorum. Less resounding No, but still a firm no, to Huckabee. Trump isn't even on my radar, it is just for publicity. Need to do more research on Paul, Pataki, and Rubio. No to Walker. Kind of like Kasich, but need more info on him.

HEll yes. Bieber thing and nickelback are completly irrelevent in my world and I've never met anyone who takes either seriously. Rush on the other hand for some inexplicable reason have hordes of faithful fans who pop up and annoy sane people on car forums all the time. I'm not sure I'd notice of the the bib and stickleback vanished, but I'd sure as hell throw a party if Disaster Area shot Rush into a distant sun as part of a concert stunt.
How exactly does being a ruthless, cut-throat business man make you a suitable candidate for the highest office in the nation? What ever happened to morals, ethics and... oh wait... nevermind.

You need to have some money to get in, but once you do..... BOOOMM crazy money.

Joking aside. I'm a liberals liberal and it's way way way better over here right wing conservative christian nut jobs and all. The only thing better over there is the health care system and thankfully I've got a good job. Health care and lack of vacation are the only things that could push a sane person back to Europe.
In reply to Adrian_Thompson:
It pains me to hear anyone compare Donald Trump to Barrack Obama when the question of leadership qualities comes up. Like, it makes me really wonder what is wrong with this country. I also live in KS which has turned into an "exciting place" as far as governance is concerned. If I'm somehow able to make a move like previously mentioned I'll report back with my findings.

Health care argument for a different time.
Vacation... I cannot agree with you more. How much did you/would you get over there? I am thrilled I found a place with 22 days of vacation+10 holidays, for a total of 32 days off a year. And the sick time is a different bank (But I really don't use much of that, so I don't count it as a big perk). Prior to this, I got 13 days and 7 holidays. I actually did use a sick day once for a mental health day at that job.
In reply to mtn:
In a job I turned down a few months ago, in Netherlands, I was offered five weeks vacation plus ten or twelve holidays (not sure which, kind of academic at that point). I think there were a few sick days thrown in as well. I turned the job down because of a simply insane non-compete agreement. Long story.
his TV show contract is up.......... needs to generate a buzz to stay relevant.
remember when he was broke??
I booked 4 (working) weeks vacation this year and I still have more than 3 left over, and I have a just-OK job by local standards.

I'd like to see some data.
As far as I am aware, it generally doesn't happen in office. Carter was broke. Hillary thinks she was. Truman couldn't afford to answer his mail.
CNN: Ex President lucrative gig
AFTER their term in office, sure. News empires, speaking engagements, books, etc. But while they are in office is pretty rare.
Being an EX president is quite lucrative. Being a president, not so much.

Mmmmm.... probably 1850's, maybe 1880's, or 1900...
Really, things have NOT changed that much, you just hear a bit more about it now and people tend to forget, or not know, the past. There were slightly different topics back then (not that much different though), but pretty much the SAME crap has been going on for a LONG time!
And, also for a long time, people have been saying the country is going over the edge...
