At my old house, which my son bought a few years back, we had lots of turkeys roaming the street.  Its a dead end court and the neighbor puts out food which attracts critters.  It wasn't unusual to see 8 turkeys milling about his lawn.

I had a Ford E350 with the big shiny bumpers and thought it was hysterical when the big male(s?) would fight himself and attack his own image in the chrome bumper.  This could go on for a while before one of them won, or he got tired or whatever they do to settle fights.

Got an email today from my daughter in law with the above Subject and one line:

A turkey was fighting with its reflection on both sides of our van. Scratches everywhere. Do you know if this is an insurance claim?

Thought it was funny, but it really sort of sucks.  Was a nice van.

Last year I spotted a male turkey just starting to square off with itself on the door of my (freshly washed) black 128i. I chased it off and fortunately it didn't feel like continuing the disagreement. Had it not been right next to my car a more permanent 12ga solution would have been employed.

I think there would be a turkey in my oven shortly after that.

A turkey attacked the Jeep last week and pecked the paint off the license plate frame.

That's odd because this isn't their horny season.

There are turkeys at the gas station I take my bathroom break at when driving the school bus.
They will strut right up to a 40 foot school bus  and try to pick a fight when I open the doors.
That's not the problem.  When I leave they stand in front of the bus and won't leave.
I Have to turn on my red flashers and open the doors which extends the visibility bar out and brushes them away in order to not run them over.

The one in my driveway always has a little one with it, I guess it's protecting a baby.

I've got a Great Dane who would probably love it then.

I'd say it's just another reason chrome should be banned. Except apparently it's not just chrome reflections they're attacking? Huh. Dumb birds. Funny though. Anyone know if they actually drown in the rain like all my schoolmates assured me was true?

Only domestic turkeys drown in the rain. The wild ones are only a little smarter.

They don't grow horns, they grow horny, you know, mating season.
