Wow, I'm kind of amazed that the plane was so promptly designated "airworthy" again. There must have been some science to determining that there was no damage? I'd figure that with the super-light materials of a glider, damage could be completely invisible to the naked eye.
Also, the pilot talks about a parachute. Is that for the pilot or the airplane? I didn't realize either might be common or standard.
Parachutes are required for the pilot when you're competing, but it's not a bad idea at any time. Some gliders have small drogue chutes to slow it down in a short field landing, not that common.
If you 19 ft. fiberglass bowrider went under, how ong would it take to dry?
as long as there were no stress cracks.. it would be fine. Just have to watch for and dry out any water intrusion between the gelcoat and the glass.
