The new season of US Top Gear starts Tuesday, February 14th, according to our local newspaper. The second episode on Feb. 21st was shot last fall in Ouray County, Colorado, just a few miles from my house. It involves modifying minivans for use on our famous Jeep roads, as well as sheep and pigs at the Ridgway, Colorado fairgrounds. I haven't seen it yet (obviously), but have heard a story or two from folks who were there as extras - should be worth a giggle.
Thats awesome! I have been to Ouray and been on some of the Jeep trails there, I will defiantly have to watch that episode!
That show is still plugging along?
I tried, I couldn't get past the 1/2 way point of the first season. I used to say car shows are like sex, even a bad car show is good enough. Now I stand corrected.
always funny to me people complaining about the 1st season... ever see the first season of TG UK?.... lol...

Yeah, even after multiple threads talking about how much better it was getting.
I'm ready for season 3. The minivan episode sounds fun...think Adam will bring a 1st gen caravan? Or an aerostar...
God I hope they've toned down Mr Destructo.
Thanks for the reminder. This forum is the only way that I know a show is coming on. I almost have stopped watching tv, if swmbo wouldn't throw such a fit I wuold just cancel it.
That means TG UKs new season will be following soon.

New TG UK started last week. Episode 2 is tomorrow.
Also, I enjoy watching both. It's not like I can't ever watch Clarkson again because I've seen Tanner. The US TG has had some good episodes (4x4's in Alaska, re-selling used auction cars, and first cars all come to mind).

Yeah, the 1st season of TG was better than the best moments of TG U.S.
Tanner has the personality of an unused condom, then you got the fat hick and the fat Jersey Boy. I'll pass. They have NO chemistry at all and the whole season feels as forced as buying cookie dough for a school fundraiser for your boss's kid.
In reply to DrBoost:
I disagree with everything you have said in this thread. I have enjoyed watching a show with cars more relative to my needs and that are possible for me to buy.
I've find all the TG shows entertaining.

I like TG US. They are good at what they do, they just do it differently than the brits do.
It's a bit like saying you can't read Stephen King because Michael Crichton is the best at fiction. (maybe a bad analogy, because I say that all the time).
The show is getting better, but it will only truly progress when they get rid of the dark haired guy. He's the only one who has no business, history or reason for being on the show.
And Stephen King is paid by the word and it shows. He writes good short stories but stretches them out way too long.
Read his one on the Kennedy Assassination for a prime example. Beyond a flawed premise he just beats this thing to death.
I'll give season three a go, but I ain't promissing anything. Tanner is painful to watch, the Jersey Boy is annoying. The hick is the guy I'd most like to do lunch with. It just seems soo terribly forced. Seriusly, as I type this I'm remembering the painful episodes I suffered through and can't believe you guys like it. But I'm glad you do.
I pined for a US TG soo bad and for soo long, maybe expecting a show that approached the original was too much?
Meh. If you don't like it you don't like it.
The way you feel about TGUS sounds like how I ended up feeling about The Car Show.
Top Gear US and The Car Show aren't perfect, and no where near as good as Top Gear UK and never will be. But, at least they are making an effort to get some car guy programming on for us. Either way, it beats American Midol, Jersey Snore, Pawn Stars, etc.

Well, at least they didn't get like a radio DJ, classical pianist, pompous TV journalist, or some crap like that.
