Yeah, I know it is a commercial holiday, but it does mark a date to do something special with the lady friend/guy friend/alien friend. So tonight the lady friend and I are going out to a brewery restaurant. I've been wanting to try out their sampler of beers, so that is what we'll be doing. If I find a good one, I might buy a growler to bring home.
Anybody else doing anything?
We're taking my in-laws out for lunch, where my mother-in-law will be ambushed by an acapella 40's girls group (think the Andrews sisters without a backup band) in the restaurant. She will be mortified and love it.
My wife is two time zones away. Sigh.
Well we just got done throwing a surprise party for my girlfriend for her birthday on Friday. So unfortunately for her all she'll get from me is my smiling face and a couple kisses.

Isn't it tomorrow?
Yeah, but it is easier to do it tonight for a variety of reasons. Two biggest are that it is easier to get a reservation tonight, and I don't have class until 2:00 tomorrow.
My girlfriend is a state away so we done something last Saturday.
Trying to figure out what to do for the wife. Been together 5 years, married 4. Hey, when ya know, ya know. Anyway, she said she wants grass seed and a hanging plant to put outside. The new house and all, we have a pretty sparce yard as far as greenery goes. So... I need suggestions. FAST!
Piss on the dying flower and waistline increasing candy....
Hey conquest. Where abouts in the country you live. If I know you climate I can probably help. Being that I do landscaping for a living and all.
My wife (thankfully) doesn't give a hoot about Valentine's Day. Yay.

I am celebrating 25 years of marriage on Valentine's day. We went to Florida for a long weekend Feb 3-7. We had dinner out on Saturday with the kids. I bought some chocolate, a card, some other candy, and a Fram fuel filter for her Trailblazer (that item is one of my standard jokes).
So her employer; the Hallmark Card Store calls and asks if she can work on 2/14 from 3pm - 8pm. She says she can't because she believes her husband is taking her out to dinner for her anniversary.
Haven't I done enough? Sheesh
Card and chocolates maybe. We don't really do the present thing.

So.... is the Pho King good?
I fallen victim to the classic blunders that are Valentines day in the past, so, she wants presents and presents she shall have, stuffed animal (since she wants one), Something from the Victorias Secret (since it's a good excuse to give sexy stuff as if I need one) and perhaps a flower and something good to eat. I shall not fail as I plan to keep this woman a long time. I also shall not spend a fortune as we live on a budget.
She going to the spa and I'm rewiring the starter on the AMC and wrapping it in heat shield along with the wires.

But will the heat shield have little hearts on it and held in place with red ribbon?
Last week we entered a contest at Chic-fil-a for a drawing for free Valentines Day dinner. We got a call on Friday that we won. We'll be there at 6:00 tomorrow night.

Last year I detailed the inside of her jeep. Sunday i cleaned the house, had dinner,a card, cheap tulips in a vase and a few candies I know she likes.
Vday is easy. Just put a little effort into something you know means something to her/him.
We're waiting until Thursday, neither of us like the crowds on VDay 'round these here parts.
Probably going to Weber Grill downtown or something.

Central Texas. Hot as blue blazes in the summer (30+ days of 100+ temps not out of the norm at all as well as drought and then a boat load of rain from out of nowhere) and then it'll get icy and snowy in the winter.
Thanks in advance for the help!!
New season of Top Gear USA starts tonight, it's beer and TV for me. Ahhh the single life....
