Wow, a mixed Valentine's bag for sure. My stepbrother made it through the night but is still not out of the woods yet, the docs say they will have a better picture of his situation this afternoon sometime.

I hope you get good news. For whatever it's worth to you, you and your family are in my prayers.
Well let's see, I worked all day, Wife went to work as soon as I walked in the door. One kid was put in a cast for a severally smashed thumb the day before (on pain meds), daughter was vomiting all over the carpet and I ended up working until 10pm from the kitchen table
I thought I had it bad yesterday. No presents and the whole house was angry at eachother. My boy is pretty close (not sure how close) to being kicked out of preschool for bad behavior, and he got another note saying he hit a kid yesterday. Grrr... Also the teacher basically told me she thought it was his mother's fault cause he doesn't act that way when he stays with me.
Then, the girlfriend informed me that she remembered today that she switched her car insurance down to liability for one month to save some money. I now remember her telling me this and my response was basically "surely you can drive safely for one month". I never have carried full coverage on my vehicles. She wrecked her car pretty badly two days ago and it was her fault. Now I'm gonna have to figure how I'm gonna fork up the money for that. She might as well have just came home and said, "happy valentines day, I'm gonna force you to sell your one of your toys to pay for my mistake"
At least my day wasn't as bad as some of y'alls. Thanks for putting it in perspective. Curmudgeon, I hope your stepbrother pulls through.
When we first started dating, my g/f told me she detests Valentine's Day... so 2/14 is generally ignored... I got some bonus points for working on the house a bit... and then some demerits for making her watch the new US Top Gear (which I thought was pretty good).
Curmudgeon - also pulling or you stepbrother.
Decided to get my 72 Firebird road worthy again because it's been sitting since I painted it a year ago. Got it started and went for a short test drive......waterpump and brake master cylinder are both leaking. Both are pretty easy fixes and parts are cheap, so I hope that's the worst of it. The good news is the 455 will still roast the tires.
