Dang it's a shame about that FB, judging by the brakes at least it wasn't a GSL-SE.

I had heard the term steampunk before this thread but never knew/cared what it was. But the thread got me to Google it. All I can say is this hipster crap has got to stop.

Steampunk predates hipster by a pretty good margin. Hipsters have just hijacked it from the anime/burning man crowd. Now I want to go watch Last Exile.

The hipster as we know it is reaching critical mass. While I don't expect it to fully die, I do think it will be mostly replaced by a new sub-culture before the end of the decade.

Okay, forget I said hipster, how about adults playing dress up has to stop. I'm not just talking about these dingleberries, I'm also talking about the scifi convention nerds, and the lets dress up like lord of the rings and prance around the forest nerds, and the wrangler jeans/belt buckles/pointy boots/loud diesel "I'm a cowboy" fruits, And the skinny jeans and elaborate facial hair dbags, and the guy who thinks camo goes with everything and is appropriate for any social setting and has pictures of deer heads all over their car. Be into what you like, I don't care, but if you dress stupid then you look stupid. I used to be a jeep afficianado and loved my yj trail rig, but I would never consider dressing up in a WW2 military uniform to drive it around. I would wear jeans and a t-shirt, or whatever, because I'm a grownup. Rant over, get off my lawn.

Not only is the Hydralisk getup fantastic, the look of terror in that childs face has me stifling a laugh in the office. The purse on the woman behind it makes it look like it's on the costume which adds to the amusement.

When I see people doing this kind of crap all I can think about is the time I heard my Grandpa say "When I was your age I was bayonetting japs in the belly."
