I regret buying the 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It was a 2wd straight six base model that gave me several years of reliable boring applianceness. The problem was that it was blocking me from buying something more interesting without being interesting itself. I wish I'd at least held out for a 4x4, but I'd really managed to get myself fed up on shopping, and just rushed out and bought a truck at a dealership less than a quarter of a mile from my house.
I regret not staying in a Volt, or at least a plug-in at the end of the lease. I could have bought the Volt or picked up a new lease, but I wanted a little sporty car and missed a manual, and having a second car wasn't a strong option. I like the CR-Z, but it certainly has shortcomings against the Volt.
I regret trading my 1997 Miata for a new 2003 Mazda Protégé5. I was a stupid financial decision, and I failed to realize it at the time.
I regret buying a Taurus SHO instead of a Porsche 914. I've never done any sort of drugs, so I'm not sure what sort of excuse I could offer.
I regret assuming that the missed shift to fifth on the test drive of my G35 was just me being rusty from driving a slushbox for so long.
Regretted selling my Z32 Slicktop & my last Saturn wagon.
I've got 3 not buying regrets...
1970 AAR Cuda - $2400 (1978) // 1965 Aston Martin DB6 Superlight - $2000 (1978) // 1983 Toyota Corolla hardtop (2009)

I deeply regret selling my 94 supra
I regret selling my 1976 Ford Pinto Wagon. It had a super high compression 302 and a "Crower 280 Monarch" cam. I used a truck C4 case with a car C4 tailhousing and a Stage II shift kit. I built it for dirt cheap, and then sold it. It would go sideways in 1st gear, snakey in 2nd gear, and I'd chicken out before 3rd. And I miss it.

Wished I'd kept the 86 911 euro coupe. Regret accepting a free mgb when I had no clue what I was doing
I regret selling a 1970 Porsche 911S coupe, even though it was in full need of a resto. I should have stashed it until I could work on it.
I regret buying a 02 Subaru Outbak H6. Booooooring
One day I'm sure I'm going to wake up regretting selling my '84 Rabbit GTI.

I have only gotten rid of 1 car. It was a 1998 Jetta GLS. It had a 5 speed, only minimal rust for a rust belt vehicle (no holes at all, and I kept on top of surface rust), and at any moment various electronic items would stop working. I do not regret getting rid of it one bit.
I regret selling my tr-3 and regret not buying two jag xk150Ses, a Jag E type and a Sunbeam Tiger. I regret letting my wife buy 1991 Lincoln Continental.

Non, je ne regrette rien
Totaling my 95 Escort. As a punishment I was sentanced to a 99 Cavalier.
I regret letting go of my '65 Chevelle Malibu 4-Door. Loved that car. I miss it everyday. I was stupid, 19 and listened to everyone else but myself, so I got rid of it.
I regret buying my '90 Maxima. See, Nissan had this awesome idea that they would build a automatic trans that would need to be rebuilt at 100k. Well I bought mine with 150k not knowing that. Let's just say it was not a fun endeavor trying to get the trans rebuilt. It resulted in only having reverse.

Regret:
1998 BMW 328is (traded in for a Infiniti G25 too boot)
1968 Datsun 1600
1954 Oldsmobile Rocket 88. Bought it for $300 in 96. Solid car I let go for $150.
I really, really regret selling my 98 Honda VFR. Sold soon after I discovered I'd be needing back surgery. Shoulda just fogged it and stuffed it in the back of the garage.

I regretted buying my '81 Charger 2.2 about a week after I bought it. Was glad to see it go at day 30 of ownership. What a flaming pile of poo that thing was.
I regret my dad not keeping our '57 Willys CJ-5 for me to wrench on after mom blew the engine on it. So many fond memories of that thing.
I regret not buying a very rusty Mini Cooper for less than a grand. It would be worth $$$ today even if I'd had to reshell it.
I regret spending $3500 in a vain attempt at building a n/a Audi I-5 when I could have just swapped in a turbo motor. I also regret spending 12 years trying to make that very nice car into something it wasn't when I could have just bought an E30.
I regret being brand loyal to Fiats for 23 years and not trying a bunch of other cool cars.
I regret selling my black 92 celica.
I regret buying the 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata.
I wish I'd kept my FJ20-powered S12. Bought it cheap in college with a busted engine, and sold it senior year without getting it running, also for cheap. 6 months later I got my first engineering job, and could have easily afforded a quick refurbish to put it back on the road. Would have been a fun, rare, practical little car to run around in.
At the time I also had a CA20 powered base model S12, and was just tired of the lack of parts availability and small knowledge base/vendors for go-fast parts, so I sold them both. Ah well.

Last year I talked to my uncle who still had his 1 owner '65 Shelby Mustang. He told me he wishes he had kept his Impala SS 409 convertible instead.
Not buying a '71 t-bird 12 years ago. My parents scrapping our panther wagon when I was 15. Buying my second neon.
