I know a day late, had to dig up some pics. These were readily available. First one is Korea 1980, I'm upper left. Old 2-piece nomex flight suits, I was a CH-47 Chinook crewchief at this time. Still good friends with the guy to my left.

This one is Desert Storm 1991, somewhere in the Saudi desert. I'm in the helmet and 1-piece flight suit doing my Safety NCO duties. Sand storm blew the tent down. Was a CH-47 Technical Inspector at this time. Chinook helicopter in the background. 101st Airborne Division(Air Assault).

I'm retired and now a DAC still supporting Chinooks and those that work & fly them.
Here's my gramps (father's side) USN 26 years. Korea, Vietnam. Was active towards end of WWII but did not see combat. USS Wantuck, Gatling, St. Paul, others.
And your very own "Hungary Bill"!
Both pictures were on the USS Constellation where I was an avionics tech on EA-6b Prowlers. We were deployed for about 4 months when Operation "Shock and Awe" started. We flew 24 hour coverage over Iraq working in conjunction with the USS Abraham Lincoln. We flew night coverage and worked on our jets all day, they did the opposite.
BUT the first picture was found on the boat's shared drive and someone wrote "Gangsta at Large" on it and posted it on all our squadron's doors. I was boat famous!!! (that's a HARM in the second picture. It didn't make it back to the boat )
My next cruise was aboard the Lincoln and we were part of the tsunami relief in Sumatra but I don't have any funny pictures from that one (having a girlfriend meant I had an AWFUL time on the boat... ah youth.... )
Me in my chocolate chip camo at "Mercedes" in Saudi Arabia, 25 years ago (Desert Shield/Desert Storm).
This year, I spent Veterans' Day investigating an accident in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico and driving back to Lubbock. My company saved a buck because the Chili's in Roswell had a special menu for Veterans.
Come to think of it, 25 years ago I was doing unpleasant work in a desert, while my Valiant waited back home for me to fix it.
Same thing on all three counts this year.
