I've seen advertisements for Samsung's VR headset for the newer Galaxies. I've got a Droid Maxx so I started looking around and found: http://www.amazon.com/IncrediSonic-M700-Glasses-Bluetooth-Controller/dp/B00UY29N8Y/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1450461544&sr=8-2&keywords=vr+headsets

Any of you guys have any practical experience to share?

My son is really into this, but has not committed to buying any headset...yet. He keeps trying out the stuff, and finding it underwhelming, so far.

Eh, for $45 I would consider grabbing one if you think that they are interesting. Finding content that is properly set up is likely the hardest part right now.

It was suggested in one of the reviews to search 'google cardboard' in the google playstore for content. Viola, tons of free stuff.

I'm waiting until there's one with an integrated Fleshlight.

(Did I just say that out loud?)

I have a Google Cardboard from 3rd party manufacturer I Am Cardboard for my Nexus 6. The tracking is really good, but putting lenses a half inch from the screen, and putting your eyes half an inch from the lenses makes it pretty obvious where the pixels are.

From what I hear, the new Viewmaster VR product is really solid. It's made out of something better than cardboard, but works with cardboard apps.

Oh heck, I didn't realize the OP's unit was just a cell phone holder type. I thought it was a full headset. There are far cheaper units out there that just hold the phone. All the way down to the Google Cardboard, which we have.

As for the apps, it's just lame. We've got Google Cardboard, and it's been gathering dust for some time now. The most interesting app was the one that let you walk around a faux museum. But after about three sculptures, you're done.

OP This one is only $13. http://www.amazon.com/Colorcross-Virtual-Reality-Smartphones-Cardboard/dp/B00PFEPQ78/ref=pd_sim_422_11?ie=UTF8&dpID=41rQMMZ3jZL&dpSrc=sims&preST=AC_UL160_SR160%2C160&refRID=1DY1B9EKAVKNVSXKRWNP

I'm holding out for the PlayStation VR headset that will work with Gran Turismo.
